Camden Gets Tested and Holds On:
The Lady Bulldogs won’t be tested much in region play these next few weeks. Yesterday the Lady Bulldogs got a good test from Clarksville Christian out of Tennessee. Junior guard Morgan Champion Morgan Champion 5'6" | CG Camden | 2025 State SC went down with an ankle injury at the 5:52 mark of the 2nd quarter and never returned to the game. The Lady Bulldogs led 21-16 at the halftime break.
Camden HS and the Centurions battled in the 2nd half before the Lady Bulldogs pulled away with a 44-36 victory. University of South Carolina signee Joyce Edwards Joyce Edwards 6'3" | PF Camden | 2024 State SC led the way with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals today. Freshman left-handed guard Braylin Mungo Braylin Mungo 5'7" | PG Camden | 2027 State SC added 6 points and Harmony Jefferson Harmony Jefferson 5'9" | CG Camden | 2027 State SC mustered 4 points.
Junior guard Nevaeh Brooks led the way for the Centurions with 10 points. Freshman Lauren Hassell Lauren Hassell 6'2" | PF Clarksville Christian | 2027 TN added 7 points and 9 rebounds. Fellow freshman and post player Marley Spiers Marley Spiers 6'3" | C Clarksville Christian | 2027 TN added 6 points and 5 rebounds.
Lady Lancers Duo Leads Away:
Legion Collegiate got strong play out of the guards yesterday. The Lady Lancers defeated Cheraw HS 52-39 here at the #RoadToTheChip Freshman Amelia Williams Amelia Williams 5'5" | PG Legion Collegiate Academy | 2027 State SC finished with 21 points for the Lady Lancers. Amelia was able to attack the basket all day long in transition and score a ton of buckets at the rim. Williams was able to drop some floaters along the way when she wasn’t knocking down the mid-range jumper.
Sophomore duo Jaylen McMurray Jaylen McMurray 5'6" | CG Legion Collegiate | 2026 State SC and Kaitlyn Garvin Kaitlyn Garvin 5'6" | PG Legion Collegiate Academy | 2026 State SC joined in on the action. McMurray played her best game pushing the ball out in transition and really looking to attack the basket. Jaylen was able to finish drives through contact on her way to scoring 13 points today.
Garvin was able to show her ability to jump off two feet and aplay. Kaitlyn jumped on the deck for a few loose ball opportunities. She finished with 7 points in the win.
The Cheraw HS Lady Braves were led by senior Myshauna Worrell Myshauna Worrell 5'4" | CG Cheraw | 2024 State SC with 13 points. Junior Sa’Nya Murray and freshman Anyah Banks Anyah Banks 5'6" | SF Cheraw | 2027 State SC both added 10 points apiece in the game.
Davis Has Strong Game:
Micah Davis Micah Davis 5'7" | SF Atlantic Collegiate Academy | 2026 State SC had a big day down in the pain for the Atlantic Collegiate Academy Armada. Davis finished with 33 points and converted 11-14 free throws along the way. Micah is a left-handed forward who plays her best basketball around the bucket just collecting putbacks and out hustling defenders at times. She had several second chance opportunities inside the paint and just really looked to outwork people all day long.
Lady Tigers Fall in Nightcap:
The host Wilson HS Lady Tigers came out on fire last night vs 1 of 1 Academy (NC). The Lady Tigers led 24-14 at the end of the 1st quarter. Guard Zoey Miller Zoey Miller 5'6" | SG Wilson | 2026 State SC scored the first 10 points of the game and helped Wilson HS to a 10-0 start. Freshman forward Logan Murray Logan Murray 5'11" | SF Wilson | 2027 State SC added 16 points in the game. Junior Leanissa Swinton Leanissa Swinton 5'10" | PF Wilson | 2025 State SC added 8 points and Gabby White Gabby White 6'0" | PF Wilson | 2024 State SC chipped in with 7 points.
1 of 1 Academy would pull away in the 2nd half and cruise to a 72-50 over the Lady Tigers.
