North Carolina has a variety of talent all across the state which is certainly fun to watch at the high school level. We have great pairs in the backcourt handling the ball, knocking down shots, and making plays for their teams. Let's take a look at some of the entertaining backcourt duos in the state.

Taylor and Walker work well together on the offensive side of the ball facilitating offensive plays and attacking the basket. They do well settling into their different roles depending on the personnel that is on the court. What makes them most exciting in my opinion, though, is the defense they bring to the court. They are both quick jumping in front of passing lanes, and they play excellent on ball defense slowing down opponents or picking the pocket to grab the steal.

[player_tooltip player_id='509880' first='Emma' last='Montanari'] & [player_tooltip player_id='621996' first='Kiara' last='Anderson']

This next duo is made up of some sophomores that already know how to keep up the flow of the game. Their decision making is top notch working together running full speed to make the smart pass or take it all the way themselves. They work well together in a full court press with Montanari slowing down from the front and Anderson coming in to close the trap. The steals immediately turn into buckets on the other end with them working together to split defenders and score.

[player_tooltip player_id='622017' first='Tiara' last='Thompson'] & [player_tooltip player_id='612336' first='Demya' last='Phifer']

This senior and sophomore combination are both high tempo guards that love to push the pace of the game. They can attack the basket protecting the ball on each possession as they finish at the rim. Both do a good job drawing defenders towards them to open up the court for their teammates as they make the nice dish. The court vision is also apparent with how they can make the pass up the court connecting with their teammates for the fast break.

[player_tooltip player_id='621980' first='Brianna' last='Carelock'] & [player_tooltip player_id='755818' first='Courtney' last='Ashford']

This duo worked well together filling in separate roles. Carelock typically brings up the ball for her team getting offensive sets started if she slows down the tempo, or she attacks the basket scoring at the basket. Ashford moves well around the perimeter constantly finding the opening to put up her shot. She cuts across the court, too, to shift the defense opening up the lanes for all of her teammates.
