In this Update we have added over 20 new prospects to the PGH System for the 2027 Class. At this point in the players careers, everyone usually has a good idea as to where they fall in their own respective Class but I want to be extra sure. Therefore, we will not rank the players from this 2027 Class until August, when we come out with our Top 50 list. There were a lot of players that stepped up this Winter for their varsity programs but I need to see it on the road, against some other competition over the next few months to know it's legitimate. With that being said, in this article I am going to highlight five individuals that will be considered for the #1 spot in this Class when it is that time for our next update.

*Please note: Just because an athlete is in this article, does NOT promise them that they will be in the Top 5 or ranked #1 when said Update comes around the in the Fall. They still have to show out and show their worth over these next few months. That's really important to understand in this process. On the flip side, if you are an athlete that is not covered in this article at THIS time, that doesn't mean you won't be in consideration for a Top 5 ranking or the #1 spot. It's still a fluid situation. Thanks for your understanding!

Lewis would be considered a Combo Guard or Small Forward, depending on who you are asking. She has demonstrated the ability to handle her own inside the lane near the rim or she can step up and attack from the outside off of the dribble. When you pair this with her natural length and physical demeanor, you start to realize what Lewis's ceiling could be. As a Freshman she produced some high end numbers throughout a handful of different positive statistical categories and she is prepped for an even bigger Spring ahead on the road playing travel ball. When we revisit who is the Top 5 in this Class in August, keep an eye out for Lewis and where she might fall.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["817141"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"[player_tooltip player_id='817141' first='Rena' last='Rasmussen'] of Laurel-Concord-Coleridge has displayed a great feel and knowledge for the game of basketball every time that I have seen her take the floor and because of that, she put together a Freshman season to remember. Rasmussen stands at only 5'8 but she plays the Small Forward position for her High School squad. Even though she was a high end producer in the Scoring category this winter, her best ability is Rebounding the ball. More times than not, she finds herself in the middle of the lane, looking for an opportunity to attack with the back to her basket or off of rebounds she may grab when a missed shot occurs. This Spring is going to be a really important one for Rasmussen. If she competes with a competitive program and puts up more good numbers, while showing that she can extend the floor outside the three point line, then she is going to be in the conversation for the being a Top Five Player/ The Top Player out of this 2027 Class.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["751925"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"When I saw [player_tooltip player_id='751925' first='T'Niyah' last='Wilson-Smith'] compete prior to her Freshman year at Bellevue East, I was impressed. At the time she was playing up at the 17U level and holding her own in certain aspects of the game. The only question that I had when I walked away was wondering how she was going to adapt defensively to the Varsity level in High School ball and I'm still torn. She definitely showed that she has the athletic ability and knowledge to be a great defensive player but if she wants to be considered for a high ranking spot, she has to continue to show that she wants to work for it on both sides of the ball. If she does that, her offensive ability is truly second-to-none in this Class, so there is no reason she couldn't take prove that over the next few months on the road.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["753080"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"We had [player_tooltip player_id='753080' first='Mollie' last='Probasco'] on our radar prior to this 2023-2024 season but she came out and did much better than I would have anticipated, earning herself some consideration in this conversation. When you are speaking about the Top Player in any Class, they have to be able to do a little bit of everything. They have to be superior in athleticism, skill, and knowledge of the game, all while producing at this point. I think that Probasco has checked off all of those boxes for the most part. She has great size and length physically, she has demonstrated several different skill moves/aspects of her game that she can u0022live off ofu0022, and she put up big numbers while helping her team win as a Freshman. As long as she continues expand her game, becoming a little bit more efficient and physical with her mismatches near the hoop, she is going to stay in this conversation and for good reason.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_player":["865474"],"_player_evaluations_4_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"Just like everyone else in this Class or at a young age, progress or expansion of a players game over the next few seasons is what is vital into becoming a high-ranking prospect out of their respective state. Someone who demonstrated a high ceiling on the hardwood coming into this season, who I still really like for a top ranking spot in this 2027 Class is [player_tooltip player_id='865481' first='Gigi' last='Owens'] of Lincoln High. Owens has long arms, a quick first step, and the knowledge and willingness to pass the ball with the ability to score from all three levels on the offensive end. When it comes to defense, she is just as good. She has shown glimpses of staying disciplined and making her opponent earn every inch coming down the floor. If she can do that constantly and show her worth without scoring, it's going to make her more prepared for the collegiate level one day. When it comes to this 2027 Class, Owen's is a prospect with a high ceiling. If she works on the correct things moving forward, everyone else better watch out.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":5,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-65e52c63b0786"} /-->
