One of the state’s best prospects out of the 2027 Class in Nebraska is off the board with the commitment of Mollie Probasco to D2 Nebraska-Kearney. Probasco would be considered a lengthy CG/SF. She has such smooth skill with her guard-like ability that it’s hard to label her as a SF. She moves to the perimeter a good amount within her team’s systems and I would expect the same to be happening at the next level as well. I don’t know how Coach Drew see’s her fit within his program but this is a really solid commitment out of an in-state prospect for Kearney. They had a couple of their previous players move into the transfer portal to try and move up after a successful Winter just a few months ago so there is a lot of room for opportunity in the near future here and I’m sure that’s something that really excites Probasco.

Elkhorn South will have a fun first matchup of their season when they travel to Kearney next week to kick off their Winter. South will have a handful of prospects that will have the chance to make the game their own in different little ways but someone who should lead their pack is

. Probasco competes at the CG position. She comes in right around 6’0 with a guard-like skillset over everything else. Probasco is your ideal PG, SG, or CG. She can play all three positions while production without skipping a beat as a facilitator and scorer offensively. She can also lock up defensively at all three positions and she can even step up to defend a 4 if need be. There is a lot to like out of Probasco at this point in the process. She should be solid at the college level when she gets there in two years. Especially if she continues to get better with experience.

of Elkhorn South is going to be able to put together to follow. Probasco steps into her Junior year as a 5’11 CG, who has the task of moving all around the floor for her program. This is one of those individuals that is used in every-way imaginable when she is hooping. She can be your PG, that runs the teams offense. She can be your SG, being the main scoring threat. She can even post up smaller opponents in certain situations. Defensively, she can guard 1-4 as a lengthy defender with great side-to-side movement. She is willing to rebound and she gets get hands on a lot of tips/deflections. If she brings this all to the hardwood over the next eight months, Probasco and Elkhorn South are going to like where it takes them.

and what she might be able to do at the next level one day. Probasco has lengthy arms, fast body movement, great body control while attacking the bucket, and a natural shooting stroke off the catch. She is right around 6’0 and she moves pretty effortlessly from an outside point-of-view. She can also be a solid and consistent rebounder, while recording some other positive stats here and there. Probasco is one of the more interesting players out of the state of Nebraska at this time. She could play at a number of different levels at the next phase of the game so we will just have to sit back and watch.

go from here? Probasco has had some notable contest this AAU season on the road with her
Elite
3SSB’] team. This group is loaded with some talent that will play at the next level one day so to shine above all definitely says something and that’s what Probasco does in some contests. There are times where she is unconscious from the field on offense, while being a sound prospect on defense. She doesn’t make too many mistakes and usually does a good job of holding her own. At this point her game is becoming more well-rounded by each second she competes out on the floor. As long as she continues to stay mentally locked in, she should continue to be someone we hear about.

A smooth shooting stroke from all three offensive levels. The ability to finish through or over contact inside the paint. The awareness to see ball and help-side at all times on defense so that she can help protect the hoop. These are just a few things that

does really well on the hardwood. The pro of playing with other really talented others is that you can usually play you natural position in those situations. This AAU season Probasco will join up with her ETG Midwest
Elite
3SSB program and she is going to be looking to make some more waves. This is someone who holds an NAIA college offer at the moment but that’s not something that she is going to be satisfied with right now.

This is a major season for everyone out of the 2027 Class in my opinion. Someone I’m expecting to handle her own and take her game to a whole other level is

of Elkhorn South High School. Probasco has a unique mixture of length and skill. She is a natural guard, that has reach and she understands how to create her own on both sides of the ball. As a Freshman, Probasco led the Storm with some pretty impressive numbers. She has been working this off-season and doing things the right way so as long as the others around her came prepared, they should be in for a Winter to remember. As for now, Probasco holds onto this #2 spot moving into the new year.

of Elkhorn South was a stud last season for her first time on the Varsity floor and I’m hoping that she follows up this Winter with an even better year. Probasco stands out for her natural ability on both ends of the floor. She is a top rated prospect out of her 2027 Class because of her mixture of length, smarts, athleticism, natural instincts, and attitude. These are all boxes that collegiate recruiters have while looking at a future prospect and Probasco checks off all of those at a thorough rate. The Storm’s roster is one that is deep at multiple positions. Over the next few seasons, they should make a run during the Playoffs and potentially make a State appearance if every one plays to their full potential.

can expand her play style from what she showed last Winter, then the state of Nebraska is in for a rude awakening. Probasco might be listed as a SF because of her 5’10 height on her roster but in reality, she is natural 3-guard/Combo Guard at this point in her career. She may have some better than average size but she can handle from inside the paint to the full court, she can score from all three offensive levels efficiently, and she doesn’t take plays off on defense. Probasco already has an offer or two to compete at the next level but that won’t satisfy her. If she locks in and stays motivated, who knows where she could end up taking things at the end of the day.

is going to return as Elkhorn South’s leader producer again this upcoming Winter season and I can’t wait to see what she puts together as a whole. Probasco demonsrtated last year at the Varsity level that she has size, agile skill, a calm demeanor in all situations, and she is knowledgable about the game. Her future potential is one of the highest from a prospect out of the state of Nebraska out of the 2027 Class and that should only grow over-time if she continues to work on her craft.
