Emmah McAmis Emmah McAmis 5’7″ | CG Central Wise HS | 2025 State VA got started early for Central Wise. She knocked down a couple of threes early and got to the line. She was perfect at the line, hitting all 10 free throws, and had 16 first-half points. Outside of turning the ball over a lot, she was great. She was great on defense and controlled this game from start to finish. She ended the game with 27 points and 6 rebounds.
Madison Looney
Madison Looney
Madison Looney had an efficient and highly effective state final for Central Wise. John Marshall is a big team, and Central Wise was able to contain them for the most part. Madison Looney was a big reason why. She battled on defense and held her own. Madison is always in the right spot on offense and gets a lot of easy baskets. Positional awareness is an underrated skill and will always make your offense smoother. Madison had a great day at the line, converting 8 of her 10 attempts. She finished with 16 points and 8 rebounds.
Taylor Clay
Taylor Clay
Eastside captured its first state title in history; Taylor Clay was a huge reason for this. Taylor impressed me last year in Eastside’s state final and showed out again this year. She has a high IQ and is a great rebounder for her size. Eastside got out to an early lead because of how good they were in transition following Brunswick’s misses. Taylor was outstanding in transition with her passing and finishing. She stuffed the stat sheet, finishing with 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists.
Drew Damron
Drew Damron
Drew Damron was another Eastside player who had a nice game. She knocked down a few jump shots from the foul line and finished with 10 points. She played well on defense and battled a big Brunswick team. Drew rebounded well and was second on Eastside in scoring. She was fantastic outside of a few errant passes that resulted in a few dead-ball turnovers.
Alexandria Harrison
Alexandria Harrison
A lot of Eastside’s game plan on defense in the first half was directed at stopping Alexandria Harrison. They doubled her and forced Brunswick to hit outside shots, which they struggled with early. It limited Alexandria early, but as soon as Brunswick hit a few shots and Eastside stopped doubling, Alexandria got going. She showed off her touch and was a big reason Brunswick took the lead in the third quarter. She played bully ball and was an absolute force in the paint. Alexandria finished with 24 points and 13 rebounds.
