In this edition we look at Oakland vs Blackman, Upperman vs White Co, Clarksville vs Rossview, Bartlett vs Colliersville, and Hendersonville vs Beech.

Oakland (18-12) 36

Blackman (18-9) 41

Oakland started the 2nd half on an 11-2 run, but ultimately Blackman held off Oakland for another region championship. [player_tooltip player_id='366664' first='Lyriq' last='Mastin'] led Blackman with 15 (9/12 from the free throw line). Aiyanna Dunbar had 12, and [player_tooltip player_id='513241' first='Amaya' last='Nash'] had 8. Blackman is peaking at just the right time....

Blackman will now host Cleveland, and Oakland will will travel to Bradley.

[player_tooltip player_id='245356' first='Alonna' last='Poole'] had 14 on the night. [player_tooltip player_id='416075' first='Kaydence' last='Wisniewski'] played well and continues to shoot really well from 3.

All-Region Team -- [player_tooltip player_id='245361' first='Kaelyn' last='Flowers'], [player_tooltip player_id='366664' first='Lyriq' last='Mastin'], [player_tooltip player_id='290716' first='Aaiyanna' last='Dunbar'], [player_tooltip player_id='245356' first='Alonna' last='Poole'], [player_tooltip player_id='513241' first='Amaya' last='Nash']

Upperman (27-6) 52

White County (31-3) 45

Upperman won their 3rd straight Regions Championship, and this time they had to do it as a 4 seed (meaning they had to beat two #1 seeds on their road to the championship). Upperman raced out to an early 21-4 lead, but White County cut it to 12 at the half.

The entire game though was really ugly and hard to describe. There were 44 fouls called.

(Just my own two cents....Guess what's not fun for anyone? 44 foul calls in a Region Championship game....I'm not complaining about officiating.....but come on....44 fouls?!?)

[player_tooltip player_id='816649' first='Gracie' last='Butler'] led Upperman with 12 points, 7 rebounds. [player_tooltip player_id='804740' first='Bella' last='Mullins'] had 10, [player_tooltip player_id='816597' first='Taylor' last='Dolente'] had 9 on 3 made 3s. Bella Stiles had 7.

White County simply had a really hard to scoring in this one. They were led by [player_tooltip player_id='636393' first='Ava' last='Jones']' 12, [player_tooltip player_id='893861' first='Gracie' last='Clark'] had 11, and [player_tooltip player_id='518128' first='Lakelyn' last='Grasty'] had 8.

Upperman All Tourney -- [player_tooltip player_id='804740' first='Bella' last='Mullins'] (MVP), [player_tooltip player_id='816597' first='Taylor' last='Dolente'], Bella Stiles

The Warriorettes (31-3) now must travel to face Heritage in a battle of 30 win teams, in what is their first substate appearance since 2015.

Upperman will host Signal Mountain (23-7).

Clarksville (30-0) 58

Rossview (21-11) 43

Clarksville controlled the game from start to finish in this one, and led by double digits the entire game. This is Clarksville's 2nd straight region championship, and our state's only undefeated team. I think every 4A follower in the state is hoping to see a Bradley Central vs Clarksville game (come on TSSAA....if they both make it to the Boro....can you freeze an envelope or something to make sure this happen?).

Clarksville had 3 players finish in double figures: '25 [player_tooltip player_id='810489' first='Malon' last='Smith'] had 26 points and five made 3s, [player_tooltip player_id='245352' first='Imari' last='Berry'] had 17, and [player_tooltip player_id='804736' first='Ella' last='Moore'] had 12.

Clarksville will now host Colliersville, and Rossview will travel to Bartlett.

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Bartlett (27-10) 56

Collierville (23-11) 39

Bartlett won another R8-4A championship on Wednesday night.

Bartlett All Tourney Team Members -- Brooklynn Spates, [player_tooltip player_id='290966' first='Shamari' last='Hamlett'], [player_tooltip player_id='625399' first='Morgan' last='Williams']

Region Tourney MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='625399' first='Morgan' last='Williams']

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Beech (22-8) 52

Hendersonville (20-9) 46

This is Beech's first Region Championship since 2013, and it took an extra frame of overtime to make it happen on Wednesday.

Beech: Lily Dunn 14, [player_tooltip player_id='405744' first='Bailey' last='Ford'] 12, [player_tooltip player_id='290985' first='Carson' last='Sisk'] 8, Genesis Harris 6

Hendersonville: [player_tooltip player_id='245331' first='Lindsey' last='Aleridge'] 21, [player_tooltip player_id='245389' first='Areya' last='Rice'] 6, Caroline Hall 4

Beech will now host Lincoln County. Hendersonville will travel to Coffee County.
