Here’s a group of prospects that stood out for their effort, attention to the little things and more that made them key glue players for their squad in the games watched.
Game Watched: vs Bixby, February 29th
A non stop bundle of energy for the Lady Redhawks, the notes from Bettis after the game was filled with her defensive impact. There was the customary all action notes of an feisty guard, with fighting through screens and pressuring ball handlers. And there was even a steal recorded when she was switched onto a big, which was a big sign of the grit and determination Bettis played with. The junior was a big quieter on the offensive end, but had displays of a good handle and hit an above the break three as well.

Game Watched: vs Inola, March 7th
The first thing that stood out when watching Jones was her end to end speed. She’s fast. And the up tempo Douglass guard put it to use as a defensive menace, while also often being off to the races for transition scores as well. Based on this one game watched, defense really could be her calling card. As not only was she a terror when pressuring defenders on the ball, she’s super active and effective off the ball by being in the passing lanes and trapping. Looking forward to more viewings of this athletic and defensive minded guard, to see her full array of abilities.

Game Watched: vs Riverside, March 8th
The Lady Oilerettes would claim the Class 2A title with a defensive slugfest win against powerhouse Dale. But to get there they won a more uptempo match against a quality Riverside squad, which involved the impressive “Swiss Army Knife” like play of the senior. She’s a scrappy player around the hoop, who forced jump balls and turnovers against players bigger than her. On the offensive end, Hartman was a consistent scoring threat in the mid-range and earning trips to the line. And what’s a glue player without the willingness to put her body on the line for a charge? Which she did to end the third quarter. Her play checked a lot of boxes in helping Merrit be succesful in having a Class 2A State Championship campaign.

Game Watched: vs Merritt, March 8th
The senior ended her high school career with a strong display on the defensive end as a havoc causer with her quick hands and great anticipation skills on defense. She would poke out sloppy dribbles or even record chase down blocks. Her constant energy and desire on the defensive end paired with her feel for the game made her a fun watch on a Riverside team that had a very strong season.

Game Watched: vs Rogers, January 4th
The ball finds energy. It’s a saying that proved to be true in watching back this contest from January, as the sophomore was routinely rewarded for her energetic ways by often being around the ball. Which included her consistently getting out in transition, where she worked hard by running the floor to score easy points. Theirry even got on the offensive glass some late in a close contest. Including winning one loose ball, that led to her scoring to tie it up in a regulation. With good finishing ability and a blue collar mentality, Thierry is a younger player to keep tabs on going forward.
