These five girls have come into the high school season and made a big impact in such a small time. Meaning these will be names to know going forward as they will start to become the face of some the states best teams.
With Makenzie Jones Makenzie Jones 6’1″ | CG Mullen | 2027 State CO in the lineup Mullen has started move back into the spot light. Making the Great 8 this past season for the first time in two years. Jones gives the team a lot of athleticism from the guard spot which she uses to score in a variety of ways. Defensively she is as active as can be, creating havoc as guards try to bring the ball up the floor.
Highlights
Another Sabus has come on to the seen this season and made a huge splash for Ralston Valley in her first year as a varsity starter. By seasons end she was the leading scorer on the team and was able to do it with ease. Santana has skill set that puts her in a class of her own, between rebounding, passing and defending at a high level she is one of a kind.
One of the tallest girls in the class Sienna Williams Sienna Williams 6’3″ | PF Monarch | 2027 State CO is more then just your typical post player. The 6’2 wing was a walking double-double for Monarch this past season. Sienna can get it done on offense multiple ways with her back to the basket, spot up, on ball off the wing or even in transition. What is was most surprised with was her ability to still score through the double team.
Grandview may have found their next great guard in Ava Chang Ava Chang 5’6″ | SG Grandview | 2027 State CO , especially with her willingness to play on and off the ball. The game is so much easier when Ava is on the floor because she adapts to the flow of the game. She finds holes in the defense to get easy points time and time again forcing you to be aware of where she is on the floor.
Coming into the year I was interested to see how Kate would fit into the offensive at Valor, she is a scoring guard that happens to be very unselfish. Which is why she ended up blending in well with the team. She was able to help with point guard duties when needed, all while still being a threat to score.
