In this article, we highlight five individuals from the states of Iowa and Nebraska, that did their thing for whatever program they laced up with.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
When you look into the 2026 Class of prospects out of the state of Iowa, you realize that this Class is the most loaded throughout the state right now. You also notice that this Class is made up of a ton of ballers, one being Alyvia McCorkle Alyvia McCorkle 5’8″ | PG Bettendorf | 2026 State IA of Bettendorf High School and Mac Irvin AAU. McCorkle is very good at the Guard position and that was on full display this weekend for her first live period of the 2024 Spring season. She is a Point Guard that can set up others for success because of her ability to create off the dribble, she can score from all three levels, and she is a dawg on defense. This past weekend, McCorkle killed it. Plain and simple. She helped lead her team to an undefeated weekend at the Select 40 Circuit event and she stood out for everyone watching. After a weekend like this, I would be shocked if she didn’t get some more offers these next few months. Most likely, sooner rather than later. She is a D1 talent and whoever lands her would be lucky.
Highlights
This weekend was the first chance I had to tap in to watch Sophia Varn Sophia Varn 6’1″ | PF Millard South | 2027 NE out of Nebraska and I was thoroughly impressed. Varn is a prospect out of the 2027 Class and she is physically dominant in several aspects of the game. Varn may be someone from a younger Class but she has great size at 6’1 and she understands situational basketball. When you are someone that is excelling on the hardwood, right when you get onto the high school floor it usually means that mentally, you have it together. If you then add the fact that she has raw skill and great size, things start to become scary for anyone that would have to matchup with her. This upcoming Winter season, I’ll have an eye on Varn and her high school program. She could turn into something really special down the line but at this time, she shined this weekend and I’m hoping that continues moving forward.
The All Iowa Attack 17U EYBL just ended this first live period with a 4-0 record and they completely dismantled their competition for the most part. The only game that was close, they ended up winning by 2 and that was against a team that they fell too this past weekend in California. The prospect that has been this groups leader for a few years now is Creighton Commit, Ava Zediker Ava Zediker 5’10” | PG Dowling Catholic | 2025 State IA . Zediker has been referred to by myself as the best pure Point Guard that Iowa has to offer and I stick by that. This weekend she showed off how to lead her team, while being the facilitator that everyone can imagine. She helped her squad control the pace of the game, she killed her 1 on 1 matchups, and she made things happen when her group needed it in clutch time. This was the first live period for everyone but I’m sure for the rest of this AAU season that she is going to be someone that every collegiate recruiter wishes they would have a shot at. She can change the outcome of a game by her effort alone and I can’t wait to see how this 17U EYBL team does the rest of this season. On paper, they are the most impressive roster on the EYBL Circuit that I’ve seen thus far.
When I saw Dasia Foster Dasia Foster 6’3″ | C Oskaloosa | 2025 State IA compete during the high school season, she was alright. Not great, not terrible but this past weekend, she showed off what she could do at a high rate and that was noteworthy. Foster is 6’4 and very good at using her body on both sides of the floor. You truly can’t teach height and being 6’4 is something that will bring a lot of eyes to Foster as a collegiate recruit. This weekend she was controlling the paint offensively, scoring with a soft touch near the rim more times than not. Defensively, she was a menace. Someone that you had to be worried about in the middle because if not, she would have had a block party against all the smaller guards trying to make their way to the basket. Like I said, if Foster can continue to show her dominance inside the paint, someone is going to take a chance on her. There aren’t many 6’4 prospects out there in a general right now and what she could turn into within the right program, could be special.
Justine Tcheuhchoua Justine Tcheuhchoua 5’11” | SF Omaha Central | 2026 State NE is coming off of a high school season where she did a good job of making her presence known each contest. This past weekend Tcheuhchoua was a standout for her Nebraska Hoops Elite program. She was flying all over the floor and making plays on both sides of the basketball. In one of her contests specifically, her team ended up winning by a final of 35-30 and she ended with 20 points when the final buzzer sounded. I think that Tcheuhchoua’s best basketball is in front of her. She plays with a high motor and she has some real length at the 3, 4, or 5 spot. As long as she locks in and continues to get better in the offseason, she is going to be someone that gets some collegiate interest before her high school career comes to an end. For this first Live Period of the Spring season though, Tcheuhchoua showed out in a number of different ways. As long as she keeps up that momentum, she should continue to kill it.
