Nina McEldon
Nina McEldon
Nina McEldon left an impression early at DMVlive. She is 6 feet tall and still in middle school. She has legit guard skills, her shot looked fantastic, and she can score in the paint using her size. I was unfamiliar with Nina coming into the weekend, but after asking around and watching her for myself, she will be a legitimate prospect at some point.
I talked about what Riley did as a shooter in this tourney, and she was one of the more effective off-ball guards I saw. Riley is smart and takes the right shots. She did well when teams ran her off the line, and she put in a few floaters. Catholic has a few great incoming freshmen, and Riley is one of them.

The other great incoming freshman for Catholic who showed out at DMVlive is

. Lauryn did not have a great start to DMVlive; she struggled with her shot in the first game. When Lauryn finally started figuring it out, you could see how much potential she has. In Catholic’s second game of the day, Lauryn started getting downhill and using her speed. She finishes at a high level and is a great athlete. Catholics’ future is in great hands.

Trinity Holloway Trinity Holloway 5'4" | PG Archbishop Spalding | 2028 MD was very impressive all weekend. She competes on defense and is very crafty. She can shoot the ball and is quick. What Trinity lacks in size, she makes up for with tenacity and skill. Archbishop Spalding has a lot of young talent and is a squad to look out for.

was one of the best players at DMVlive, period. She was another player I was introduced to this weekend and left a massive impression. She is a relentless rebounder and uses her length very well defensively. She was a double-double machine and had one in every one of Spalding’s games. Vanesa averaged 17 PPG and 12.7 RPG, the latter of which were top 5 in the tourney.

Melody Vaughn
Melody Vaughn is a high-potential guard in the class of 2029. She has great length for someone who has yet to enter high school and skills beyond her years. Melody shoots the ball, attacks the rim, and provides a lot defensively.

Halle Newsome
Halle Newsome
Halle Newsome is another player for Shipley who has yet to enter high school to look out for. Halle already has high school basketball experience, playing for Shipley last year as an 8th grader. She is a tremendous shooter and can play guard or wing. Halle was one of the best shooters at the event, and she showed off her ability to drive to the rim.
These are the players in the 2028 and 2029 classes that impressed the most at DMVlive.
