This time of the year is always crazy when you're speaking about collegiate recruitment as it pertains to basketball. This is the last time during the Summer season that coaches and recruiters can watch potential future prospects compete live, making it a real grind for everyone involved to end the month of July. In this article, I highlight five prospects in no particular order from around the country, that have all recently been offered by the home state Hawkeye's these past few weeks. The Hawkeye's are a highly regarded program nationally so anyone that gets an offer or interest is considered the real deal.

Other than her natural situational awareness and athletic ability with the ball in her possession, Bella Ragone is a handful to guard because of her movement off of the ball and knowledge of when to do what. Standing at 6'2, Ragone already is a problem for defenders to stay in front of but when you pair that with her ability to separate into space and knock down tough jumpers, you start to really understand her promise. From the looks of it, Ragone has been killing it on the Select 40 Circuit this Spring, bringing in offers from all over the country at the high D1 level while competing for the ATL Bucks. Over the last few days, she has picked up multiple offers, including one from the Hawkeyes. This would be a major get for the black and yellow but I think she is going to take her time to make her final decision. She still has a lot of time left going into her Junior season at Mill Creek so she could wait until after the year to make her choice and that's okay. I'm sure programs are willing to waiting if they will have a shot at landing her in the end.

Following this past weekend, [player_tooltip player_id='528170' first='Brinley' last='Altenburg']'s recruitment has been ON FIRE for being a prospect out of the 2027 Class. Altenburg over the last couple of days has picked up offers from Ohio State, Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa State, and of course, Iowa. When I saw Altenburg competing up a grade level this year with her AIA 16U EYBL team, it wasn't hard to tell that she was a future Power-5 D1 player competing out on the floor. I'm sure by the time she gets to being a Senior, she will have 30+ D1 offers but until then, I'm sure she is just going to keep on working.

You want to talk about a true post, look to further than Carolin Bradley of Oak Grove High School and the Arkansas Mavericks AAU out of Louisiana. Bradley comes in a 6'5, she works relentlessly with her back to the basket, and she is a difference maker as you would imagine. This past six months Bradley has picked up a lot of momentum on a national level, being recruited by every single D1 program in the country at this point. It was only till these last few weeks when Coach Jansen could be in to see Bradley, so the Hawkeyes just ended up offering her but it's better late than never. This is someone that will truly have the pick of the liter when it comes to where she wants to play once her high school career comes to a close. She is going to have to take several visits to see which University feels the most like home. A process I'm sure she is excited for.

Where basketball could take [player_tooltip player_id='643486' first='Jhaliana' last='Guy'] at the end of the day is unseen right now. This is a 2028 prospect with over 10 Power-5 D1 offers already, competing with a high end program out of Chicago with the Mac Irvin Fire. As of most recently, Guy's phone has been off the hook as she is getting calls from all over the country from recruiters. She just had the Hawkeyes offer her this past few days but we aren't even close to the end of this process. I expect Guy to make ESPNW's 2028 Class Ranking Update, whenever that comes about but by that time, she will already have 15-20 offers on the table, if not more if I had to guess.

One of the tallest prospects Iowa has offered recently is Harper Dunn, who is 6'6 and out of the state of New Mexico. Dunn is an individual with great length at 6'6, balance and coordination around the rim, easy touch on the basketball, and she has an above average motor for her position. She does a great job of getting down the floor, doing her work early on in possessions on both ends to beat her individual matchup. Not to mention, her shot form is really solid from all around the court. Dunn comes in as the #1 rated player out of her state with a bright future ahead. She just needs to keep with it and she could be a name we hear at the collegiate level before you know it. Hopefully in a Hawkeyes jersey.

I recently talked about [player_tooltip player_id='377192' first='Ashlyn' last='Koupal'] because of how well I saw her compete this past Spring so I won't touch on her play-style too much but this is a top rated recruit in the country out of SD. She has fantastic size at 6'2-6'3, she can shoot the leather off of the ball, and she doesn't seem to only rely on one part of her game. Instead, she can really do it all on both ends of the court. She can be a game changer with her offensive ability or she can get double-digits in rebounds and blocks before halftime if she is really motivated. This past six months, she has taken the country by storm and I'm hoping she can build on that moving into this Fall at Wagner High School.
