I must say, there is something special about this class. I can't quite put my finger on it,however, this class to me has come in and just contributed to their prospective programs right away. Doesn't matter the height, size, or skill position, the class seems to have girls who just want to ball out. Of course there are the big name girls such as Haylen Ayers and [player_tooltip player_id='821620' first='Lauren' last='Hassell'], but too there are some girls who will be household names in their area as well.

Most of the time, freshman year kids are just trying to get acclimated to a new environment and just get their feet wet. Not this class. I felt like they came in as gangbusters and shook up the game. Some started, some played prominent roles, either way they left their mark and helped project a brighter future for their high schools teams. This summer, they played travel ball and continued to work in their game in the lab. This class will have some prospects within it for sure when it's all said and done.

Without further ado, here are some young ladies who came in and did their thing their freshman year and throughout the summer. They showed everyone they weren't here just to be a part, but to change the trajectory of a program. These kids are hungry and willing to do whatever it takes to help their ball clubs win. These are only a few, but there are plenty of girls out there who have similar characteristics as these. Check out some of these sensational sophomores who will be geared up for year 2 of high school basketball.

[player_tooltip player_id='755832' first='Peyton' last='Wood'] (5'10/So./CG/ Jefferson Co.)- Nice. This girl has game. Nice size. Good speed. A multi level scoring threat who can make split second decisions to her advantage. She can pull it from the arc, knock down the mid-range, dish it down low to a teammate, or just finish around the rim. Defensively, she is long, getting hands on balls. Deflections, steals, she's all over the place. What I love about watching her most is that no matter the environment, she looks like she is out there having fun. A great prospect who will be turning a lot of college coaches' heads sooner rather than later.

[player_tooltip player_id='813470' first='Nyla' last='Johnson'] (5'8/So./CG/ Nolensville)- I am going to use the term “an old junkyard dog.” When you are playing against Nyla, it's a battle. It's war. She is going to be in your face the entire game. It's like she is a superhero. Will smile one minute and when the ball tips off, it's go time. A fearless two-way player who just gets the job done. Can score it on all 3 levels, defends her tail off, rebounds, dives on the floor for loose balls, just plays the game with relentless energy. An all-around solid prospect who is on an upwards trajectory for sure.

[player_tooltip player_id='821870' first='Blake' last='Maple'] (5'8/ So./G/ Lipscomb Academy)- I would say a sleeper in the class. She can play with or without the ball in her hands. A 3 level scoring threat who can create off the dribble or be utilized in the screen game. She does things quietly, when it's all said and done, you look at the box scores and wonder how in the world did she do all that. She scores, rebounds, makes, timely assists. She defends, wins 50/50 balls, and just goes all out. The more she plays, the better she gets. An overall superb talent that is going to continue to get better throughout the course of her high school career.

[player_tooltip player_id='822224' first='Jayda' last='Robinson'] (6'0/F/So./CPA)- She's going to be a problem. That's my first statement. This young lady is an enforcer and knows how to utilize her size to her advantage. Can dominate inside the arc by either playing with her back to the basket or face up. She has nice counter moves, nice first step, but once she gets going, she is hard to stop. She owns the boards on both ends of the floor, block shots, and just hustles all the time. A solid addition to the Lady Lions program and will be on college coaches radars real soon.

[player_tooltip player_id='821759' first='KayKay' last='Strayhorn'] (5'7/ CG/So./Dyersburg)- Just a fun kid to watch because she brings it every time she steps onto the floor. A three-level scoring threat who has great handles. Shifty with the ball in her hands, she slice through gaps on her way to the rim or dump it down to teammates for an easy lay. If you leave her open on the perimeter, she is going to knock the shot down. She isn't only an offensive threat, but a defensive one as well. She can sit down and guard, but if she is playing off the ball, she is in gaps, waiting to jump an errant pass. This kid is a solid prospect that will be a nice program addition at the next level.
