In this piece we highlight five Point Guards out of the 2027 Class in Iowa, that showed their worth and production last Winter as Freshman for their high school programs. Each player listed has demonstrated a better than average handle, vision in the full court, and the ability to make the others around them better every time they take the floor.

CR - Prairie High School is going to be an interesting program the next few seasons as they bring back a lot of talent to their roster. Their starting PG from a year ago, [player_tooltip player_id='502096' first='KeaOnna' last='Worley'] is going to jump into her Sophomore season with a lot of motivation. Worley is a crafty, shifty, and creative type of PG, that can make something happen with the smallest amount of space. When you watch her compete, you see that she is a smooth operator with the ball in her hands and that's going to a major key to her Prairie team's success over her next three Varsity seasons. The biggest question I'll have for Worley, which I've always sort of had is, how good can she really be? There is another untapped level to her play-style that she hasn't hit yet and if she keeps working on the correct things, that's going to start to shine before you know. Which is impressive considering she is already a Top 10 ranked prospect out of her 2027 Class.

I first had the chance to see [player_tooltip player_id='833953' first='Callie' last='Hales'] of Gilbert High School compete at our PGH Showcase last Fall. During this event, Hales showed off that she can be a thorough leader while other talented prospects are on the floor around her. Since then, she has seemingly gotten better over time and that trend should continue into her Sophomore season. Hales is an agile PG, that can get her own at any offensive level, while being scrappy defensively. You can tell that over-time, she has put in a lot of work on her craft and that this game really mean's the world to her. That's something that coaches can't teach, so I'm sure it is eye-opening to a certain extent to collegiate recruiters as they have been around to watch her compete in some capacity. Expect a major season incoming for Hales. She is the #2 rated PG out of her Class for good reason and she is about to show everyone throughout the State why that is.

[player_tooltip player_id='833974' first='Ava' last='Casey'] of IC - Liberty is a PG that is "next-up" for their program. As a Freshman last Winter, Casey stepped onto the Varsity floor and did a respectable job of holding her own in most situations. This Winter, she will return for another season and be a piece of her team's journey once again as they try to put together a season to remember. By the looks of it, this group is returning A TON of talent from years past. When you combined that with the fact that their coaching staff has experience and returns all of their personal, you see how a big run could start to unfold this next six months with the Bolts. As for Casey, I expect to hear a lot about her in the local papers this Winter with her production. She could make some positive things happen in more ways than one throughout the rest of her high school career. There is no doubt in my mind about that.

[player_tooltip player_id='832204' first='Rylee' last='Mudderman'] has been a 2027 PG prospect, that put up impressive numbers with her Kee High School program a year ago. Mudderman excels with her natural mixture of hand-eye coordination, smart head on her shoulders, and her ability to adapt to any given situation that may present itself throughout the duration of a ball-game. I have a feeling that she is going to put up note-worthy numbers, her entire high school career for a few reasons. The main one being that Mudderman is already pretty skilled, she should get better with more experience, and the team's that they will have to matchup against on most nights, won't really be a problem for her to produce against. We still have three more years until this Class graduates but if Mudderman stays on the path she is currently on, she will finish off things as a top producer not only throughout her 2027 Class, but throughout the entire state of Iowa.

Saint Albert High School is one that is going to make some big-time noise these next two-three Winter seasons if they have anything to say about it. This is a group that built a solid foundation during their 2023-2024 campaign and they return most of their roster once again. One of their underclassman that made an impact during her Freshman year was PG, [player_tooltip player_id='751962' first='Eleanor' last='Coughlin']. Coughlin is a multi-sport athlete, that embodies what it means to lead by example. She is someone that thrives in the departments of communications, hard-work, and effort. At the end of her high school career, I'm not sure if Coughlin will want to compete on the collegiate floor for Basketball or if she will keep her talents on the Soccer pitch. Either way, this is someone that can accomplish a lot when she is motivated so which ever she picks, I'm sure she is going to continue to kill it.
