Saturday, Prep Girls Hoops Indiana held its first ever Sophomore ID Camp to help identify and showcase several of the state's top Sophomores. With 84 prospects from the 2027 class in attendance, this provided an opportunity to see them compete head-to-head, as well as together, in a combination of 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games. The event was loaded with talent, making it difficult to limit the strong play to just a handful of players, so I wanted to circle back and discuss everyone from Teams 1 & 2. There will be additional articles highlighting Teams 3-10 over the next couple of days.

Team #1:

#36 [player_tooltip player_id='992222' first='Myracle' last='Williams-Hatchett'], 5-2 PG, Purdue Polytechnic H.S. - Myracle could be a good one for Purdue Poly. She isn't very tall, but she is extremely quick, fast, and active. She has some strength at her size, but it's her playmaking ability, feistiness, and defensive presence that stand out.

#61 [player_tooltip player_id='751072' first='Jada' last='Frieson'], 5-4 PG, Warren Central H.S. - I've written about Jada a few times in the past, and I have always liked her game. She is extremely strong and physical at her size, yet she is still an athletic creator. She plays compact, willingly finds others, and she can score it at all three levels.

#442 [player_tooltip player_id='992533' first='Havana' last='Thompson'], 5-9 SG, Decatur Central H.S. - [see her review here]

#454 [player_tooltip player_id='751039' first='Amya' last='McCoy'], 5-7 SG/SF, Lawrence North H.S. - Amya has some physical tools to build around. She has nice length, she runs & jumps well, and she plays with a nice motor. As she continues to develop her skillset, she will be more and more productive each time out.

#465 [player_tooltip player_id='992549' first='Ryleigh' last='Shafer'], 5-6 SG, South Gallia H.S. (OH) - Ryleigh came over from Ohio and had a solid showing all day. She is a balanced athlete, she plays with a really nice motor, and she has some skill to her game. She can handle it a little, she can knock down open shots, and she will defend.

#466 [player_tooltip player_id='751088' first='Korinne' last='Nickolson'], 5-4 PG, Pike H.S. - [see her review here]

#468 [player_tooltip player_id='756240' first='Malika' last='Jenkins'], 5-8 CG, Merrillville H.S. - [see her review here]

#473 [player_tooltip player_id='912544' first='Olliana' last='Hardin'], 6-0 C, Valparaiso H.S. - Olliana is a big, strong post. She has broad shoulders and is willing to be physical inside. She has some touch facing the basket in the mid-post as well. As she learns to play lower, it could help her be overpowering at times at either end of the floor.

#508 [player_tooltip player_id='751113' first='Olivia' last='Hazzard'], 5-11 PF, Marquette Catholic H.S. - Olivia was one of the harder workers in the Sophomore camp, as she seemed to be around the basketball at all times. She has a strong frame, she likes to play with physicality, but she also flashed some skill in the mid-post.

Team #2:

#31 [player_tooltip player_id='992528' first='Azaria' last='Finn'], 5-7 CG, Evansville North H.S. - This was my first time seeing Azaria in-person, but I think she is a nice North/South athlete, she has length, a wiry-strong frame, plus she's willing to take some contact. She did a nice job of creating for herself and teammates.

#39 [player_tooltip player_id='992523' first='Abrielle' last='Dugan'], 5-8 CG, Plainfield H.S. - I've written about Abrielle a few times, and I feel like she is one of the more under-the-radar guards in this class. She isn't exceptional at any one thing, but she is so solid at most things, and she plays with a good feel for the game.

#43 [player_tooltip player_id='751127' first='Zakaela' last='Walker'], 5-7 SG/SG, South Bend Washington H.S. - [see her review here]

#74 [player_tooltip player_id='992526' first='Ahlai' last='Harris'], 5-4 PG, Avon H.S. - This was my first time see Ahlai. She has some North/South speed, solid ball skill and command at the point, plus she plays with a nice motor. As she makes her perimeter jumper more consistent, she will be an even bigger threat.

#472 [player_tooltip player_id='909349' first='Elyssa' last='Nichols'], 5-11 PF, Pike H.S. - [see her review here]

#480 [player_tooltip player_id='992538' first='Jazlyn' last='Miller'], 5-8 SG/SF, Pike H.S. - I wrote earlier about what a great Spring & Summer Jazlyn had put together, and she was again solid on Saturday. Now, she looks a little stronger, and she is putting together consistent efforts each time out.

#506 [player_tooltip player_id='992133' first='Claudia' last='Strack'], 5-11 PF, Columbia City H.S. - [see her review here]

#509 [player_tooltip player_id='751068' first='Hazel' last='Melton'], 5-11 PF/C, Tecumseh H.S. - Hazel is a strong, physical frontline prospect. She came in and played extremely hard, she was aggressive on the interior, she pursued rebounds outside of her area, and she showed some touch/skill in the mid-post as well as around the block.

#661 [player_tooltip player_id='891958' first='Ainsley' last='Brown'], 5-6 SG, Scecina Memorial H.S. - I've seen Ainsley's name, but this was my first time watching her. She has really nice length, she's a fluid, almost smooth athlete, and she plays with a really nice, balanced skillset. As she continues to get stronger, her game should become more consistent.
