On Saturday we were treated to a rare fall league game that was played at a high level with playoff intensity. Two of the top teams in the DMV squared off at Pikesville High, and both teams brought a lot of energy and intensity and took the game right down to the wire. Riverdale came out with the hot hand first and staked and early lead, but St. Frances got untracked and eventually forged ahead. [player_tooltip player_id='332124' first='Amora' last='Alston'] tied the game late with a three-pointer for St. Frances, but Riverdale's [player_tooltip player_id='857737' first='Ariana' last='Meriedy'] dropped in a jump hook at the buzzer to secure the win for the Crusaders. Luckily for all of us these two teams are set to scrap again on February 8th at the Battle in Baltimore.

[player_tooltip player_id='332124' first='Amora' last='Alston'], St. Frances, 2025, Point Guard

Amora was having a pretty pedestrian game until late in the fourth quarter. She had a total of four points off two free throws and a layup before she nailed a long three to cut Riverdale's lead to 3 late in the game. Shortly after that the speedy guard dropped another long three pointer in to tie the game with under ten seconds left. She's a fearless player and never shies away from taking a shot in pressure filled moments.

[player_tooltip player_id='455588' first='Heidi' last='Williams'], St. Frances, 2025, Wing

Heidi was the main reason St. Frances was able to weather an early storm. She brings toughness and attitude to this squad and fit in immediately as a transfer. She played tough defense, rebounded, pushed the ball in transition and talked a little trash on her way to a team high 13 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='569084' first='Dahni' last='Suggs'], St. Frances, 2026, Forward

Dahni has been really good during league play, showing off improved footwork and finishing better around the rim. She finished with 10 points in this one and competed at a high level, banging in the paint and providing interior defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='857737' first='Ariana' last='Meriedy'], Riverdale Baptist, 2025, Center

Ariana finished this game with 6 points and 9 rebounds and she made the game winning shot at the buzzer. At 6'2" she brings legit size and presence in the paint on both ends. It was fun watching her match up with the bigs from St. Frances.

[player_tooltip player_id='569091' first='Chloe' last='Mills'], Riverdale Baptist, 2026, Point Guard

Chloe was a stabilizing force for the Crusaders in this one. She kept the team organized and ran the offense efficiently while under heavy pressure. She finished with a game high 16 points including four three pointers that helped stretch the defense. This was a really strong performance for the transfer from Poly.

[player_tooltip player_id='870735' first='Taylor' last='Timms'], Riverdale Baptist, 2025, Guard

Taylor is a force to be reckoned with on defense. Her on ball pressure is relentless and her motor runs on high at all times. She has added an efficient three-point shot to her arsenal and she knocked down two in this game on her way to 13 points. Looking forward to watching her more this season. College coaches should add this unsigned senior to their watchlists.
