After three weeks of sifting through players in the 2025-27 classes, it's time to introduce the class of 2028. We've highlighted a few of them occasionally, but with today's watchlist and their first high school season less than a month away, let's meet the future of Wisconsin High School Girls' Basketball. We'll highlight more during the season, but there are eight kids I'd like to open things with.

A new name on my radar from Louisville last July was [player_tooltip player_id='992482' first='Allie' last='Neuenfeldt']. The De Pere native played up with Wisconsin Flight Elites, now Team Prime Nation, 15U EYBL team. The 5'8 guard can play with some physicality and has shown plenty of athleticism when I've seen her on the court. There's an opportunity for her to earn a significant role with the Red Birds early this season, and I expect the FRCC to have a challenging time dealing with her these next four years.

One thing I love when seeing the new prospects come through are the players who pop up at nom-traditional powers in the state. Gary will start her first season at Madison Country Day, a small school coming off a rough season last year. Gary will be an influx of talent on her own, and her composure will allow her to work well against the multiple defenders teams will throw at her in the Trailways-South. She has Player of the Year potential in that conference.

We may or may not see Hollins at some point this season, but the talent and work ethic are there. A knee injury last April will keep Hollins out for the first portion of the season, but the wait will be worth it. The Wisconsin Lutheran guard is an excellent lead guard who can operate in traffic and find creative ways to get the ball to her teammates when they're open. The Vikining is also a talented perimeter scorer and earned the respect of Illinois AAU coaches in her brief stint early in the AAU season before she got hurt. She could be a difference-maker for the Wisconsin Lutheran this season or next.

Possibly, the name I'm the most curious about is [player_tooltip player_id='936786' first='Leah' last='Awe'] from Stevens Point. The 6'1 forward showed flashes of intriguing play over the summer. Awe shot the ball well when I saw her in Louisville in flashes and defended the rim well with her length. I believe there's more talent in her than you'd initially think, which could give the Panthers an extra dimension they didn't have last season. She could become as complete of a frontcourt piece as we've seen in a while, but she'll be a welcomed addition to a Panthers team looking to make a run this winter.
