Seven schools moved up to 2A. Their vacated spots taken by seven to 1A D I. The seven that slid down are Lincoln, West Elk, Oxford, Meade, Ellis, The Independent School and Sedan. Mining KSHSAA's 2024-2025 Volleyball season enrollment breakdowns it appears Hodgeman County and Minneola moved to 1A D II. Blue Valley-Randolph and Greeley County moved into 1A D I. Official basketball 1A breakdowns have yet to be released so my estimates could be off. Isabella will be looking to propel her team out of a always tough sub-state. After averaging 11.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 2.5 assists she earned Mid-Continent League second team and 2A honorable mention honors from KSHSAACovered and Sports In Kansas. Night-in, night-out the MCL's large, tough slate of programs will have Ellis prepared when sub-state rolls around. She averaged 14.8 points (76% FTs) and added 4.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.1 steals. A 1A D II Sports In Kansas honorable mention selection followed her selection to the Southern Plains-Iroquois Activities Association's honorable mention. She put up 12.9 points per game and collected 2.6 steals and 1.3 assists. Stapleton shot the three ball nearly 185 times, making 31%, and set the school record for seven makes in a game. She also hit 62% of her free throws. Knocking down three balls at a 39% clip and shooting 83% from the line Espinoza averaged 18.1 points per game. A three level scorer she generated 11.4 points (75% FTs), 6.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.9 steals. Playing with [program_tooltip program_id='715500' first='Magic' last='Basketball'] in summers I have seen her numerous times over the years and know that game-in, game-out she brings her all-around game and just flat out-works opponents over the course of a game.
