Pre-Season Rankings in the smaller classes show us a lot. I think Week 2 and Week 3 really starts to shake stuff out. Some coaches are new to Class A, just familiarizing themselves with the field. Also, some teams just get overlooked. Not afraid to say that my Week 1 Rankings did not include Wellston, and then after seeing the first Top 20 I realized that it was a big oversight on my part. Week 2 Rankings show another thing, as some teams (like currently 12-0 Wellston) just keep winning, while some teams seeing their first tough competition reveal themselves a little more. The more we see teams and players the more we are able to evaluate where we think they are. Some coaches early cling very tightly to W/L records, and have some big misses in my opinion. A few Class A coaches leaving some football schools out of the rankings due to not having many games played the first few weeks, but shouldn't be discounting that 3 time defending State Champion Seiling is going to be really good.

The top spot for both weeks in Class A has been the Seiling Wildcats. Going for their 4th straight Gold Ball, Seiling has only played three games this season (Football team made it to the State Finals) but they include a big win over Class 2A 14th ranked Hooker, and 40 point wins over 7-3 Mooreland and 17th ranked Okarche.

The Caddo Lady Bruins come in at the #2 spot, beating 3 big school teams to win the Madill Holiday Classic. Will have big test after Christmas, as they are in the prestigious Bertha Teague Mid-America Holiday Classic, where they have Class 2A #3 Latta in the first round, before possible matchups with defending state Champions Seiling and Washington, or Class 2A power Dale.

Quinton is #3, losing to Latta in the finals of the Latta Tournament, after beating a very good 3A Jones team in the Semi-Finals. The Lady Savages getting hot from behind the arc on a given night could launch them over anyone in the class, Quinton pulled 37 from downtown in the finals against Latta, as their first 36 points in the game all came from 3-point shots.

Red Oak comes in at the #4 spot, having gotten some tough tournament experience, winning two games in each of the Wilburton and Harshorne tournaments.

The Cyril Lady Pirates come in at #5, having a huge win right before break as they beat Class B's 3rd ranked Lookeba-Sickles in a one-point battle. Cyril took the #1 seed in the Caddo County Tournament that will be played in early January. Coach Shane McLemore has done a tremendous job coaching both boys and girls at Cyril, but this season is just focusing on the girls.

Great tournament at Madill for the lefty point guard. She scored 12 points in the final four minutes to help Caddo pull out the win against Durant in the finals. A 17 point first half by the eventual Tournament MVP in the semi's gave Caddo the cushion needed against Purcell, excited to see what she can do at the Bertha Teague Classic.

6'1 with guard skills. Terrific rim runner that is able to finish fast breaks for the Wildcats. Long and athletic enough to start her own fast-breaks as well. Plays the middle area of the press for Seiling and was able to take a few from half-court straight to the bucket against Okarche.

Teaming with her dad for 3 straight State Championships, Teagan is stepping into a much bigger role this season. (Along with fellow senior [player_tooltip player_id='733738' first='Keirstin' last='Briggs'], more on her later this week) Teagan hit 5 threes in the blowout win against Okarche, the biggest blow being one from well beyond the half-court line to beat the halftime buzzer.
