The 20 to 30 point scoring, the double-doubles, the 5 to 6 threes, etc are becoming the norm. Seems like this year more and more players are scoring over 30 or in the range, and making it look normal. There are many ways to impact the game, and putting the ball in the basket is definitely one of the most impactful. In this article we take a look around the State at some of the recent “big time” scoring performances.

[player_tooltip player_id='249437' first='Olivia' last='Staples'] has bounced back from an injury and has been shooting the daylights out of the ball. Staples is one of the top shooting guards in the State. Staples has great range and has the ability to punish defenders who don't close out quickly or close out with their hands down. She can also get to the rim with a quick first step. Her quickness keeps defenders on their heels and with her step back thats gives Staples more than enough space to let it fly. Staples had a 35 point performance recently and another performance with 8 threes. She has always been one of the top shooters in the State and this year is looking to be her best scoring season yet.

[player_tooltip player_id='400785' first='Audrey' last='Beyer'] continues to put up the points and lead her team. The impressive part of Beyer's game this year is her efficiency. I watched her play recently against Bolles and she was probably over 40 percent from behind the arc. Beyer scores from all over the court and she is one of the best at driving and getting to the line. She had nearly 40 points against Creekside and 22 points came from the freethrow line. Beyer gets to her spots on the floor and takes advantage when the opportunity presents itself. She plays within the team concept and so do her teammates when they pass it Beyer's way.

[player_tooltip player_id='708143' first='Kendall' last='Proffitt'] is a bonafide sniper on the floor. Proffitt is averaging right at 30 points per game and has hit the 30 point mark three times this season, including 37 in one of her games. Through 5 games the shooting guard has made 30 threes out of an amazing 81 attempts. No doubt about it Proffitt is going to let it fly. She reached 100 threes last season and is well on her way again.

[player_tooltip player_id='514608' first='Evelyn' last='Freeman'] continues to impress with her ability to score, defend, and lead on the basketball court. Freeman can score the ball from all over the court, but the majority of her scoring is predicated on her speed and instincts. Freeman recently scored 27 points and it the majority of points came from floaters, layups, transitional scores and off of steals. In the midst of scoring, Freeman still was dishing the rock to her host of shooters.

[player_tooltip player_id='892014' first='Kelsey' last='Sharpe'] had a 38 point game and a 36 point game and as of this article was averaging over 25 points per game. The guard combines speed, athleticism, and can shoot from anywhere on the floor. She is also dynamic in the transition game with her speed. Sharpe's defense is equally impressive and she scores a lot of points off of it. She is averaging over 8 steals per game. The guard has the complete game and it all leads to an impressive scoring average. Scoring is not all she does. Sharpe can dish the rock and also averages near 5 assists per game.

[player_tooltip player_id='823892' first='Jadyn' last='Watts'] turned in a nights's work in one game scoring 29 points and delivering a 13-rebounds effort. The Sophomore guard is smooth and fluid and can score from anywhere on the court. Watts has 13 threes on the young season. She has an all around offensive game and her ability to rebound from the guard position allows her to get easy buckets on put backs. Watts is electric in the transition and can maneuver her way through traffic and get to the rim in a hurry. She scores with the left and right hand.
