2027 Rankings Release - Great Point Guards

The class of 2027 has some terrific floor generals. You can tell these girls have put a lot of time inTO their game, particularly with handling the rock. She is a great floor general for her team. I really like her decision making and how she moves out on the floor. She is a terrific shooter and passer. She plays really hard and is also a good on-ball defender. She possesses a quickness and change in speed that make up for her size. I think she is a good small college prospect.     Megan is a very athletic guard for the Trenton Tigers. One word I would describe her is: relentless. She has a knack for always being the play. She moves well and has a nice hesitation move into a pull-up jump-shot or floater. Last season as a freshman she had an incredible year averaging 15.2 points per game and 4 rebounds per game. She also had 109 steals and 100 assists. She is following up her freshman season with another terrific season this year.     Skylar is a really good player for the Divide County Maroons. She has everything you look for in a guard: size, speed, athleticism, shooting, and decision making. She also is a very nice defender. Last season she was an All-District selection and is well on her way to getting a spot back on that team this year as well as a spot on the All-Region team. She and her little sister are going to put Divide County on the map in the next two-and-a-half years.     Abby is a player who takes the game seriously and wants to be as good as she can be. She is a certified bucket, recently scoring 37 points in a single game. During that game, she recorded a school record 9 three-point makes. She is her team's leading scorer and three point shooter. She currently has 27 three point makes on the season. Abby is someone to keep an eye on going forward and has a great shot at earning a spot on the All-WDA team this season.     Ava is one of two sophomore starters for the Legacy Sabers and plays with a confidence not usually found in such a young athlete. She plays with great pace and tempo and is a very good ball handler. She is a great athlete and very strong and tough for her size. She is currently averaging 3.7 rebounds per game and 4.1 assists per game. The assists average is particularly impressive for a sophomore point guard. Ava's scoring role will increase as older players graduate and I think she is going to be a great point guard for years to come.     Jessa is a returning varsity player for Griggs-Midkota and a very nice player. She has speed and quickness and plays very hard. I like her on-ball defense, particularly in the full-court. She is able to turn her opponents and speed them up into difficult passes which oftentimes lead to a turnover. She is a good shooter, having a quick release and nice arc on the perimeter. Jessa averaged just under 10 points per game as a freshman and is well on her way to improving upon that number this season.     Macey was an All-Region selection last season as a freshman for good reason. She is a really good player and will find herself on that team for the rest of her high school career. She is a very good on-ball defender, shadowing the ball and deflecting many passes. She does a lot of things naturally, like finding the open space when breaking the full-court press and utilizing pass-fakes to gain an advantage. Macey is also a terrific shooter, being able to knock down mid-range jump shots as well as three pointers.     [player_tooltip player_id='1090529' first='Evie' last='Sevald'] is Sheyenne's most talented offensive player and will likely find herself on the All-EDC team this season. She is having a nice season so far, averaging 10.4 points per game, 4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists. She has good size and athleticism for a point guard and is one of the primary ball-handlers for her team. She has a nice change of speed when trying to get to the basket and does a nice job of getting to the free throw line. I like Evie's confidence and swagger out on the floor and think she has potential to be a very good player.     Gracen is a very good sized guard for the Minot North Sentinels. She plays the game with a natural smoothness. She finds the space on the offensive end to fill and doesn't make a whole lot of mistakes. I like her aggressive drives to the middle and her ability to finish at the rim. She is currently averaging great numbers for a sophomore guard with a team playing its first varsity season. She is averaging 9.3 points per game, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists. Gracen is going to continue to get better and is a player I am excited to watch going forward.     Ashley is a solid guard for Nedrose and someone who plays with confidence out on the floor. She is a capable three-point shooter, netting 43 three-point makes last season as a freshman. My favorite part of Ashley's game is her passing. She seems steady with the ball and is able to find open teammates with her great vision. Her passes are on target and give her teammates opportunities for open looks. Ashley is someone who accomplishes a lot out on the floor for her team.
