Class of 2028 Debut: Next 10

Today is the day to release the debut rankings list for the 2028 class. Over the next two days, we'll take a relatively quick trip through the 25 kids on the rankings, beginning with the top ten and the next ten article today and then looking at the final five tomorrow.    As I went north in the first week of the season to watch Memorial at SPASH, I had no idea who Kling was, but I did when I walked out of the SPASH Fieldhouse. The 5'10 wing has had some explosive offensive performance, and I talked to the Old Abe coaches about her defensive prowess and was curious if the offense could catch up to what she does on the defensive end, and it took about two months. She's a kid with 30-point potential each night while guarding the other team's best guard or wing.      Some injuries to Tritons allowed Hinz to step into Notre Dame's rotation, and she's done well in her time. She's still figuring some things out, but her frame, athleticism, and skill set make her one of the more intriguing kids in the Green Bay area in her class. She can knock down shots, play around the basket, and defend.      The 6'1 Deerfield post has the potential to be among the better post kids we've seen, along with John from Brookfield Central. Loerke is a versatile post that can handle the ball, push it in transition, make shots, and play with her back to the basket. She's an unassuming kid who goes about her business without much emotion, but she may be the most talented kid in any of the Trailways Conferences.        Small schools have produced talented kids recently, and [player_tooltip player_id='888330' first='McKinley' last='Russell'] out of Shullsburg has been excellent for the Miners this season. The 6'0 lefty has done a little of everything for Shullsburg and is among her team's leaders in every category. She's cooled off from her start because teams are paying more defensive attention to her. However, her team wins games even when she's not scoring because of everything else she does.      The Racine St. Catherine's forward has been an excellent addition to the Angels. She's been a routine double-double kid. Her physicality around the basket has added another layer of toughness to a team that was already one that played with a chip on their shoulder, and I love it. King has the tools to be among the top players in St. Cat's Conference over the next few seasons, so keep an eye on them.      I didn't expect MontMarquette to step in and be as comfortable as she's been in the FVA. She's been the connector for a team in desperate need of one for the past few seasons. She's probably leading the Patriots in assists, and each time I catch their games on stream, I feel they play their best when she's on the floor. She can do some of everything on both ends and create a flow on the offensive end.        The Nicolet guard has shown some flashes on a team that people may not think about much because of the wins and losses. However, if you watch some of the things McCain has done, it raises eyebrows. She's a 5'10 kid who can defend around the basket, score from all three levels, and has a solid motor. She may not be a household name, but McCain is a name to know.      I talked about Luehring recently, so I'll reiterate what I said. Her ability to help her team win games by excelling away from the ball, attacking defenses on the weak side, and making timely shots. She's a solid athlete and has been effective on the defensive end. I don't think Kettle Moraine Lutheran could've asked more of her if they wanted. She's been a perfect complimentary piece.      The Bay Port native has slowly found her way as the seasons aged. She's had some massive nights around the basket that's willed the Pirates to a win or two. Her touch around the rim has been solid, and her presence around the rim has been useful for a team that's relied on perimeter talent most of the season.      The 5'11 wing has the physical tools to be among the top inside-out threats in her class. She's physical, has a shooting touch, can play through contact, handle the ball, and defend multiple positions. Hudson's season trajectory altered due to injury, and everyone has to reestablish themselves, but Bartz is one to keep note of as the years go by.
