We are living in a time that is considered a "super media society" and some athletes put their heads down, go to work, and never worry about the hype! In my opinion, athletes have to be more mentally focused in today's time. However, we are ranking high school athletes. Some outlets go as far as ranking elementary and middle school kids. In my humble opinion, never worry about the opinions of others. Yes, myself included! Athletes know who are there from the start, who are in their corner, and who helps them conquer their goal-driven dreams!   Girl's basketball is here to stay! It's not the future. Girl's basketball is NOW! Below are a few athletes that you need to know now:    Coalfield does not win it's first district title since 2002 without [player_tooltip player_id='817921' first='Mattie' last='Beard']! I've watched Mattie play numerous times now, and I do believe she is one of the best stretch forwards in her class! She's a versatile athlete that you can plug in numerous places. She does a great job knocking down outside shots. Beard is an exceptional passer that finds open teammates. She provided her team extra possessions numerous times this season by getting offensive rebounds! She's the 6 footer that you want on your team at the next level.     I was late finding [player_tooltip player_id='907626' first='Jayden' last='Kitts']! Kitts was recently marked as a "Star on the Rise" but to every college coach out there, she is NOW! This athlete is highly skilled and extremely gifted. Larry Bird said it best, "First, master the fundamentals." Kitts has mastered the fundamentals. The scary part for opponents is that Jayden is going to continue to get better! She's an elite athlete that knows exactly how to play the game the right way. She has an extremely high IQ. She is great on the defensive side! A true two-way player that will have plenty of offers to choose from before her high school career is over. Jump on board now, because you don't want to miss anymore time of this sensational sophomore!     The first time that I watched Jones play, I knew she was forreal! How many records will she break? Honest question. She broke two this season as a sophomore. She now holds the record for most points scored in a single game. She poured in 38 points that game! She also holds the school record for most 3's made in a single game. She poured in 8 long balls! Remember when I stated that, "she has a beautiful outside shot that she knocks down consistently." This is more than FACTS! Jones is an outstanding athlete that has the size, the skillset, and the ability to excel at the next level!     College coaches that have not pulled the trigger on offering the junior, pull it now! She can play against anyone! Shields continues to shine when the lights are the brightest! She is the definition of what it means to be a most valuable player! Shields is an excellent ball handler. She continues to make everyone around her better. She sees the floor exceptionally well. Michelle is the athlete that you want to lead your team. A natural, efficient leader that can score at will.     In the most recent double overtime loss to Gatlinburg-Pittman, Carroll put up 20 points and added 11 rebounds. Gwen has put up numbers like this all season long! During the season win over GP, Carroll put up 27 points and added 8 rebounds, and 4 steals. Yes, I mentioned stats with Gwen, but what she brings to any team goes way past any stat! Carroll is a true difference maker. She is the true definition of a game changer. She can change the tempo and the momentum at any time! Gwen has exploded this year, and she will explode even more when AAU starts. Don't wait any longer on extending an offer to this one.
