[player_tooltip player_id='643486' first='Jhaliana' last='Guy'] has been a hot topic of conversation the past few weeks with her commitment to Stanford (CA). As you can imagine, Guy is a next-level talent in all facets of the game. She is someone that can do everything asked of her and she will look better than most while doing it. Doesn't matter if it's making 25FT three pointers, getting to the hoop for an AND1, creating for others in transition, rebounding on either end, or defending at such a high rate that her opponent has to give up the ball a majority of the time because she doesn't want it to be taken away with a steal. What really seals all of this together is Guy's athletic ability. She might be one of the most athletic in the Country, no matter the Class or age level. She still has three years to go of high school ball but I'm excited for what she is going to be able to do at the next level. When Guy was in 7th grade, we said she had POTY-potenital at the college level. Now she just needs to keep working to turn that dream into a reality.

Norwalk High School put together a Winter to remember. They made it to State, rarely losing all season long and they had several prospects show off their impressive abilities while doing so. One of those players being freshman CG, [player_tooltip player_id='883552' first='Braylyn' last='Birmingham']. Birmingham is an impressive guard, that understands what she does best. More times than not, this is someone that is getting a ball screen with space in the open court to attack the defense off the dribble. From there, she can either go all the way and score it herself or she can make a crafty move and find someone else for an assist. Once she gets downhill, she is very impressive and that just speaks to all the moves she could pull out of her bag in the blink of an eye against any opposition. Birmingham made her mark on her Varsity program this season and I'm sure that her dominance will be more impressive next season when she is looked upon to contribute even more.

[player_tooltip player_id='880913' first='Kelli' last='Kalb'] has the chance to turn into a very productive competitor over her high school career if she stays on her current trajectory. Kalb is a lengthy SG with a pure shooting stroke. She only stands at 5'10 but with her length it seems more like 6'1. This gives her multiple advantages out on the floor on both offense and defense. On O, she can shoot over smaller defenders on close outs, she can score going toward the paint off the dribble with her mixture of touch and situational awareness, or she can catch in the mid-range and go to work. Defensively, she can guard the opposing SG or she can switch 1-4 with her quick side-to-side movement. I wouldn't have her defend a pure Center just yet but maybe one day. In this Update, Kalb moves into the Top 5 at #3. If she stay steady and keeps her head down. She should have some Power-4 offers before you know it.

Sometimes you see a player that just makes it happen. In this case, we are speaking about [player_tooltip player_id='1092007' first='Sadie' last='McCann'] of Waukee NW. McCann just makes things happen out of no where. It's intriguing. When you look at her from a scouting perspective, she has better than average size for her position at 5'10, she has an act for getting to the bucket off the dribble for a sweet finish, and she has a tricky first-step while making any sort of move. I've had the chance to sit down and see McCann a couple times these last few weeks. Each time she is making a smart play and either getting to the line or she is helping the others around succeed. As a freshman, she put together a rememberable season and now she is looking to stack onto that with her AIA program this Spring.

If you are looking for a selfless PG that possesses a great demeanor, impressive leadership abilities, and the mindset of a winner - look no further than [player_tooltip player_id='957840' first='Savanna' last='Wright'] of Mount Vernon High School. Wright came onto the scene this Winter and showed everyone across the state what it means to be a true Point Guard. From the start, Wright directed her team as to where they should be on the floor, she demonstrated that she is willing get her hands dirty and do the hard-work for those around her without taking credit, and she continued to grind in her off-time so that she could get better as the year went on - always leading by example. Wright was previously ranked #5 in our first 2028 Update, In this one she retains that spot after a very respectable freshman campaign coming off of a 3A State Title run.
