I talked about some rising juniors and seniors the other day. Today, I'd like to highlight a few new names in the 2028 class to keep some tabs on over this summer. It may be a little early for them to drum up as much attention as the older kids, but here are a few names to know.

Over Kling's first season, she became the most consistent perimeter threat the Old Abes had, and, I'd think, landed her as a first-team all-conference kid this past season. She's a physical wing who can space the floor, utilize her footwork in traffic, and defend multiple positions. She's possibly the most versatile kid in this class outside the top three, and she'll be a riser this summer with [program_tooltip program_id='713205' first='Wisconsin' last='Playmakers'].

The Madison Country Day guard significantly contributed to their turnaround this season. Gary's shooting kept defenses honest, and when shots fell for her, the Prairie Hawks would find themselves in a position to compete. In Gary's first season, she helped turn a winless program into one that played in a Sectional Semifinal and won a Regional Title. She'll continue to develop and take her game as far as she wants.

The KML newcomer is the type of player I enjoy watching the most. The 5'7 guard plays like her hair's on fire, and there's plenty of skill in her game. The lefty shot the ball well this season did an excellent job as a young perimeter defender, and did a solid job facilitating for teammates when they had to. She's a scrappy guard who can make plays off the dribble, which will allow her to thrive within what the Chargers do, and when coaches eventually see her play over the summer, they'll have an appreciation for what she does.

Another younger sibling of a scholarship talent, [player_tooltip player_id='992508' first='Macy' last='Stremlow'], isn't like her sister. She wasn't a highly-touted lead guard who led the Verona offense when she arrived. Stremlow instead found a role as a wing and as a reserve post player as a 5'9 or 5'10 kid and did well in that role. She played against some physical kids who got the better of her at times, but she played with zero fear and sought out contact. Whether she stays in that role over the next three years, she's shown some versatility in her first high school season.
