The High School Season ended and the travel season is under way. There has been a lot of talk about "hops" this past weekend, so we take a look at some of the athletic players who have the hops. In this article, we look at some prospects who have a quick twitch that allows them to get up in the air quickly and impact the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='972357' first='Jayla' last='Griffin'] has the hops and she is a force on both ends of the court. The combo guard stood out at the State Championship game where she made an impression with her ability to block shots and intimidate the ones she missed. On the offensive end, Griffin was at the freethrow line and was just picking teams apart with her elevation that she was getting on her shots. She also elevated and dished to her teammates when drawing the defense. Griiffin is a force and if you talk about hops, she is definitely a player who comes to mind.

[player_tooltip player_id='722918' first='Kasey' last='Davey'] took a straight line path to the rim and was checked by the Kennedy the "Real Deal" from Miami Country Day. Davey took off and literally was walking in the air as she converted a two-handed layup. Davey is a force on the offensive glass, and I've seen her take over games with her ability to sky for rebounds and get the offensive put backs. "KD" has impeccable timing on blocking shots, too. She took over the District Championship game on the defensive efforts in the paint and she was "hopping" all over the place.

[player_tooltip player_id='743520' first='Kimora' last='Green'] was at last year's PGH Expo and was literally dominating on the defensive end. Green has the ability to elevate from a stand still position and it looks "unfamiliar" to the eye. Green has the ability to block shots and go get the rebound from her guard position. Green has a nice midrange game and is a pest on the defensive game. She brings physicality, speed, athleticism, and of course the "hops."

[player_tooltip player_id='463719' first='Yahri' last='Tyler'] is another prospect to see this travel season. Some of the things she does in the air is unreal. Tyler can hang in the air when going to the rim, or simply can jump out of the gym. At a recent showcase, Tyler was a standout player. She was explosive to the rim, and showcased a sweet turn-around jumper - both with elevation. Tyler averaged 14.4 points and 11.8 rebounds per game as a Freshman and 19.7 points and 11.7 rebounds her Junior season. Her game is predicated on her athleticism, her "hops," and her ability to put the ball in the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='934210' first='Kristyonna' last='Harris'] caught my eye last summer on the defensive end of the court. At a summer game, Harris took flight to the neighboring state of Georgia and was blocking shots like a bad habit. The young Freshman has the hops and the energy to go with it. I saw Harris block two consecutive shot attempts and after the second one, dove out of bounds to save the ball to a teammate. Harris is still developing the offensive touch, but her athleticism and hops will keep her on the floor.
