Griffin was a stat sheet stuffer in the game I watched Duval Elite play, especially active on the boards using her size and length to grab multiple missed shots and turn defense into offense by getting the ball up the floor in transition by herself and with kick ahead passes. Defensively, Griffin used that same size and length to apply serious on ball pressure as well as getting into the passing lane deflecting and stealing the ball. She was very good in isolation plays by design or in the moment, she used one or two moves with the ball and got downhill without stopping the ball or waisting dribbles. Her motor and activity level was high throughout the game but she played with pace and under control throughout.

Jayla surpassed 1,000 career points this season after making an impact in her first year at Cardinal Mooney. She currently holds three Division I offers and will continue her development this spring and summer with Duval Elite on the P24 circuit. Her athleticism stands out immediately, allowing her to consistently get downhill and finish above defenders with strong elevation. This winter, she showed noticeable growth in her overall offensive package—finishing around the rim, improving her mid-range game, and extending her shooting range—while also displaying better passing reads. With continued development, she remains a steady riser in the class.

and “playoff-paint production” are synonymous this time of the year. No one explodes in the paint the way Griffin does, and no one has the athleticism that Griffin displays. From pull-up jumpers to drives, no one destroys that area of the floor more than Griffin. She can get their with the dribble, off the catch, and off the glass. Griffin provided an heroic effort in last year’s playoffs and will likely have to duplicate and exceed that effort to reach the promise land this year.

‘s athleticism changed the energy of the game. She protected the rim, altered shots around the rim. Defensively, Griffin is at her best when defending in transition and taking shots out of the air against anyone who challenges the rim. Griffin impacts the game from the perimeter and on the inside. On offense, she takes it to the rim when on the perimeter, and when playing in the post she has the ability to elevate and score over power forwards and centers.

Jayla showed excellent timing and explosiveness on the boards by elevating quickly to secure rebounds and convert put-backs. She’s made noticeable strides in her shooting by confidently stepping out to hit multiple threes last night. Her ability to stretch the floor and knock down shots from deep will only enhance her recruitment. JG is a versatile player who can impact the game both inside and on the perimeter.

delivered one of the most impressive performances of the night. While she scored primarily in the paint, it was how she scored that stood out — the athleticism, the physicality, the confidence, and the visible growth in her overall game. Griffin looked every bit like one of the premier prospects in Florida’s 2026 class. Now at Cardinal Mooney, she is poised to help guide the program back to another Final Four run. In her most recent outing, She put the team on her back for long stretches, finishing tough plays and consistently producing off the bounce. She finished with 27 pts, shot 70% from the field, and made 7 of 8 free throws . Griffin is firmly establishing herself as one of the best players in the class and is primed for a true breakout in this 2025–26 campaign.

has so much talent that when it’s all said and done, she might kick the door down and knock the hinges out the wall. Her athleticism and upside is just that promising. Griffin can jump out the gym and now she using that ability to score consistently in the paint. Defensively, she can anchor the middle from a forward position, and can cover the perimeter like a guard. She is lengthy and swift, so lazy passes usually are headed the other way. Any rebound in her vicinity belongs to her. She is peeping now, but next year she could be jumping over the door with her athleticism, and vertical, and skillset. She is just that talented.

plays with an effortless style that makes everything she does look easy.
She has a smooth hang dribble that sets defenders up, allowing her to blow by them with ease. Once she gets past her defender, she showcases impressive athleticism and graceful footwork, changing direction and exploding off one or both legs with agility and control.
Her verticality is just as impressive—she snatches rebounds near the rim and blocks shots with ease. Offensively, she can make tough, off-balance shots off one or two feet, making her extremely difficult to stop when she gets into a rhythm.

is another young player who has a very diverse skillet. Griffin’s athleticism is unrivaled in the 2027 class. She has the ability to elevate higher than most and that leads to plays that are highly impressive. On the offense, she is deadly at the freethrow line with an ability to dissect a defense. She can take it to the rim, draw the defense, dish to the open shooter or the off-side forward teammate, or pullup for the midrange jumper. Griffin showcases a versatile defensive game with the ability to cover on the inside and the outside. The State Championship game comes to mind where Griffin made plays on the perimeter and also blocked her share of shots near the basket.
