Post SSS 15U Team Review: Duval Elite 28

In this article we look at [program_tooltip program_id='931970' first='Duval' last='Elite']'s 2028 team. This group was good last year and they lost a few players, but added a few new pieces to the equation. We hilight some of the Standout players on this exciting team.    [player_tooltip player_id='708143' first='Kendall' last='Proffitt']  proved once again that she is a baller and can score the ball regardless of the defense.   Proffitt is not out there just shooting it,  but has an understanding of what to do to set up her shots. She uses ball movement: She knows how to manipulate a defense with a pass, knowing that her shot will come on the return pass to her.   Proffitt also has great range and takes advantage of defenders who back off and relax for a split second.   The young guard is very good in transition and does a good job of reading the play and getting out on the break.   Finally,  she has very active hands on the defensive end and is very good at scoring after a turnover.  It was a treat watching her in action. The verdict is in. Proffitt is the real deal.   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2025/04/DSC07511.jpeg?w=908" alt="" class="wp-image-1230380" /></figure>     [player_tooltip player_id='400818' first='Kennedi' last='Tatum'] number 1 really really good on the floor.  KT was a playmaker and her ball IQ continues to impress.  She sees the floor well and  recognizes that she has shooters on her squad: one who has connected on over 200 threes (Proffit)  and another shooter who can also shoot the cover off the ball as well (Hoffmann).   Tatum is a thief and gets to loose passes and gets steals on the ball and on the helpside.  She also has quick feet and can prevent players from getting to the basket.  KT is athletic and can get to the rim and score. She also draws the defense and is able to find the open shooter on the perimeter. KT runs the floor well and can also score on the break.  Provides constant energy on the floor    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2025/04/DSC07520.jpeg?w=850" alt="" class="wp-image-1230381" /></figure>       [player_tooltip player_id='400817' first='Londyn' last='Tatum'] was out there balling.  She has a smooth jumper and her athleticism was jumping off the court.  She runs the floor with grace and handles a lot of responsibility.  Tatum handles the point guard duties, press breaking duties, and then can mix it up on the glass.  She does a great job of rebounding from the guard position.  She has good court vision and loves to advance the ball with the vertical pass.  She can also score the ball and does so in transition and attacking the rim on offense.  Two  play that comes to mind was Tatum's coast to coast reverse layup  finish off of the euro.   If that doesn't impress you the next play will.  On a fast break,  Tatum picked up her dribble behind the three point line on the right elbow, takes two steps,  hangs in the air and scores on a finger roll (ala George Gervin).   Tatum was also impressive on the defensive end, covering opponents like a hawk.   She constantly deflected passes abs had several blocked shots.  One block kept the opponent from tying the game and it sealed the victory in the process.      <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2025/04/DSC07515.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1230389" /></figure>       [player_tooltip player_id='934210' first='Kristyonna' last='Harris'] also played well and what I like about her is that she plays to her strengths.  She defends and rebounds  at a high level and she can run the floor and score on the break.   Harris has good instincts on defense and can keep players from getting pass her. She defends well on the perimeter and has the ability to block shots to protect the rim.   <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2025/04/DSC07549.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1230382" /></figure>     [player_tooltip player_id='708144' first='Jocelyn' last='Hoffmann'] played with a lot of confidence on the floor and played at the point and also off the ball on the offensive end.   Hoffman was very good in the press break and she worked in sync with her fellow guards on the court. Hoffmann  and the Tatum sisters will be a hard group to press.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2025/04/DSC07521_03b299.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1230384" /></figure>         [player_tooltip player_id='912252' first='Naomi' last='Gill'] is another talented young player who is consistently in the right position to make plays.   The youngest member (2029) of the team has a scorer's mentality. She is cat- quick,  she can run the floor, and she  can also take a defender off of the dribble.  Gill has a sweet jumper and does not hesitate to let it fly.  The young baller also has playmaking ability and does a good job of passing the ball when she draws a double team.    <figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img src="https://prepgirlshoops.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2025/04/DSC07528.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1230385" /></figure>
