Saturday 17u Notes Border War (Arkansas)

I myself Saturday was station at the AAO Rogers gym where the 17u and some 16u played at. Here are 5 quick notes on players I saw Saturday. There will be more to come as I have plenty of notes. A very shifty ball handler that used a strong crossover to get by her defender getting downhill. Physical guard that to excel the more physical it got. A deep range shooter that can pull up off the screen or shoot a deep 3 in transition. On one possession she was knocking down a 3 with a nice release and the next possession she was ducking her head taking on the contact to the rim. Tough rebounder of both ends of the court that keeps the ball alive. A very versatile player on offense and defense. A solid low post player on the block that used nice footwork skills to get her body between the defender and goal to avoid the block. Runs the floor like a 3 filling that rim runner lane in transition looking for the long pass layup. Nice mid range jumper giving an advantage in the high low offense. Strong skill set in all areas. Played the 1-5 positions Saturday. Good ball handling skills allowed her to bring ball up the floor on the break. Showed range knocking down several 3's. Tough downhill driver finding the gaps in the defense getting to the rim. Started out hot and never cooled down the first game Saturday. Aggressive downhill driver in transition that likes to push the tempo baseline to baseline.
