Friday was the first day of Live Period action taking place for thousands of prospects at the high school level across the United States. In this piece below we highlight five noteworthy prospects that put their teams on their back and because of that, their team ended up winning the contest.

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

[program_tooltip program_id='715980' first='Team' last='Iowa'] 2027 got a big W on Friday with a 35+ point victory to start off their weekend. In this showing, the star for the TI program was [player_tooltip player_id='832201' first='Elysionna' last='Westerfield']. Westerfield controlled the whole game with her offense and defense. She understood exactly when to trap hard or sprint back to help into recovery. She also hit big threes early to control the game to start things off HOT from the jump. In general, she seems to understand how to get her teammates involved as well. In the end, she finished the contest off leading the way with 18 points (8-11), 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 8 steals, while going 2-3 from behind the three point arc.

One of the highest scoring performances of the day that we saw out of a program from Iowa was Nakia Ollivierre of [program_tooltip program_id='712617' first='Lady' last='Pure Prep'] 17U. Ollivierre helped her team to victory while scoring a game high 27 points. In this showing, Ollivierre was giving the opponent all sorts of buckets. It didn't matter how well the defender stuck onto her, Ollivierre was in one of those modes where no one was going to slow her down. We have recently been talking about this one as we move into AAU season more and more because of how much she can produce at times. To kick things off this weekend it was just more of that. With three more games on the weekend left to go, it'll be interesting to see how Nakia plays following this offensive outburst. If she stays her aggressive self, she should continue to like the results she is producing. Individually and from a team standpoint as well.

You could say that the entire [program_tooltip program_id='715980' first='Team' last='Iowa'] 2027 team played really well as a whole this afternoon. It's definitely hard to pick out only a few but the other guard for their team who really stepped up big was Angie Troh. Troh competes for CR - Jefferson during the Winter season and she is a tough one to stick in front of. Troh keeps it moving. Literally. She is always moving at fast speeds but in control, usually making a play in the assisting or the scoring department of things. When the final buzzer sounded this afternoon, Troh stood out to everyone watching as one of the best on the floor throughout the contest on both ends.

I received some texts on Friday morning from a handful of collegiate coaching staffs that were in attendance to see [player_tooltip player_id='667952' first='Jaliyah' last='Kinnetz-Jenkins'] and company compete down in the Texas. Each of those coaches were thoroughly impressed with what the smooth moving PG brought to the floor. On multiple occasions she was diving deep into her skill-set and pulling out all the stops. At times she would rebound and take it coast-to-coast for simple looks in transition. Other times she would get down the floor as a SG and line up a bucket from deep off the catch. When she gets to the next level she will be more sized to be a PG but as an overall guard, Kinnetz-Jenkins did a good job today of showing up in Texas for Day 1.

[player_tooltip player_id='867471' first='Ashleigh' last='Amble'] is someone that catches the eye of any recruiter or evaluator in the building when she competes because of her natural height at 6'5. When I had Amble listed at 6'3 to start the year and then later measured her at 6'5 during our PGH Fall Showcase, I was blown away. From what I've seen as of late, Amble is starting to put it together as a prospect out on the hardwood. Today in her team's first contest of the weekend, she ended things with 7 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 blocks. As you can tell opponents don't understand how lengthy Amble truly is as she protects the lane. If you are competing against her and don't pay attention once you beat your original defender, it's going to usually end in a block, tip, or deflection by Amble to end the play. That happened today on several occasions. Hopefully tomorrow she can keep things rolling and do the same.
