This weekend I had the task of remotely evaluating our PGH Champions Challenge is Appleton, Wisconsin. This weekend was jam packed with action from the 12U level all the way to the 17U level, competing in multiple gyms around the city of Appleton.

Throughout those few days, I have been taking live-notes on prospects and really diving into what makes each of those players tick. In this article we cover some of those notes.

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

[player_tooltip player_id='1224426' first='Dani' last='Fix'] - 2030 - [program_tooltip program_id='713328' first='Team' last='1848'] 13U Arnold

"Fix knows what she is doing at the PG spot. The way she carries herself so far has been noteworthy. She understands how to get her team set up, how to run their motion offense to a T, & how to control pace of play throughout the game. She doesn't have wasted movement on either side of the ball and that sticks out with her efficiency.

[player_tooltip player_id='1210675' first='Avery' last='Freimuth'] - 2030 - [program_tooltip program_id='1210953' first='Together' last='On 3'] 13U Delorit

"[player_tooltip player_id='1210675' first='Avery' last='Freimuth'] stands out on the court. Metaphorically & literally. Freimuth is a prospect that has fantastic size for her age (5'9) and she has a versatile skill set to pair along with that. She moves well enough that she can either post up or pop out offensively, while also being a player that sits in the middle of her team's press-break when they need some help to get down the floor. Defensively, she is someone that does what she can in controlling the paint area. She doesn't fall for many pump-fakes and that helps her get a bunch tips/deflections."

[player_tooltip player_id='875048' first='Kenley' last='Staska'] - 2030 - Team Prime Nation EYBL 13U

"Defensively the best player I've seen this weekend. Honestly, maybe the best player I've seen this entire AAU season on defense. Staska stands out because of how well she can stick on her primary matchup. She uses her mixture of athletic ability, a high motor, and her deep knowledge of the game to really force her opponent into some dumb decisions. This is the type of player that you can ask to play full-court defense, 1 on 1, the entire game without a break and she would thrive. Not to mention, she is resectable on the offensive end as well."

[player_tooltip player_id='1229459' first='Aryana' last='Scholz'] - 2030 - [program_tooltip program_id='713328' first='Team' last='1848'] 13U Arnold

"[player_tooltip player_id='1229459' first='Aryana' last='Scholz'] has made the most of her opportunities in her morning contest. Scholz has been primarily hitting jumpers for her [program_tooltip program_id='713328' first='Team' last='1848'] 13U crew. These jumpers have mainly been from deep and off the catch but it also seems like she can put it on the ground a little bit, if need be. Scholz also understands spacing well. She knows to continue to move if she doesn't get the ball for a moment in her spot, opening up the floor at a high rate."

[player_tooltip player_id='1206045' first='Cleo' last='Jenkins'] - 2032 - [program_tooltip program_id='860091' first='Iowa' last='Ice'] 12U

"[player_tooltip player_id='1206045' first='Cleo' last='Jenkins'] is going to be very good down the line if she keeps building on her current play-style. Jenkins can handle at a super high rate, she can facilitate, and she can score in a plethora of different ways offensively. Mainly off the dribble. She is also willing to move off the ball and produce as a SG on the Wing off the catch. It really just depends on how she is feeling or what is needed of her from the team. When I saw Jenkins come into the game to compete, she took over and acted like she had be there before. Something impressive for a fifth grade, who is playing up, to demonstrate."

Tatum Tejeda - 2030 - Ignite Hoops 13U

"Tejeda is listed at 5'4 but she seems to play a bigger game on the court. She looks like she also possesses lengthy arms with great reach as well. Overall, Tejeda makes some crafty moves while trying to attack her opponent. She has a pass-fake into a finish in her offensive arsenal and she loves to pull it out. She is also someone that likes to play smarter than harder. She uses her strengths to her advantages and she doesn't try to force it."

[player_tooltip player_id='1229832' first='Avery' last='Check'] - 2030 - Team Prime Nation EYBL 13U

"This is a hooper that possesses a well-rounded game as a whole. Check looks the part of a PG, she understands when to do what, and she controls things better than most. I would list this one as a pass-first PG, that works well in any system. You could place her in a few different offensive schemes and she would do just fine. She might not be the one to score 30-40 a game but she can put up some convincing numbers once a contest comes to a close with her ability to score, facilitate, rebound, and defend."

[player_tooltip player_id='1207032' first='Harper' last='Wilson'] - 2031 - [program_tooltip program_id='860091' first='Iowa' last='Ice'] 12U

"Wilson competes with an aggressive edge. She is ahead of the game mentally compared to most her age. You can tell because she knows what to do in any given situation that might present itself. Impressive for someone out of the 6th grade level. Now she just needs to continue to build that and continue to grow."

[player_tooltip player_id='1226256' first='Kayniah' last='Perez'] - 2031 - [program_tooltip program_id='712778' first='Purple' last='Aces'] 12U

"One of the more well-rounded players I've seen today. Perez has the ability to attack off the dribble with either hand, ending the take in a nice finish in multiple ways. She mainly competes at the PG position but she is movable to the 2 spot. She can also defend her position at a high rate and create some chaos with her pressure in the open court."
