Teams from South Florida, Central Florida, SWFL, the Panhandle, North Florida – you name it. Here are some lead guards who command the floor with their game:

Talia does a great job of setting up the offense and playing with patience. Her unselfishness and strength with the ball make her a fantastic lead guard. She can score it from all three levels and shot it well from deep in Gainesville. I was really impressed with her hesi move and also her shiftiness with the ball in her hand to change speed and direction quickly while using fakes to fool the defense. Talia will make the hustle plays and give you 110% on both sides of the ball.

Kennedy might be the only player in this article that isn't a true PG, but it's her versatility and ability to lead her team that makes her a floor general. She's a fantastic team player that makes those around her better. Her high release on her shot allowed her to get off some tough shots in tight spaces, and she shot the ball as good as anyone in the gym when I was watching. Kennedy plays with control, IQ, and made some really smart passes to get her teammates involved this weekend.

Sariah showed a lot of promise this weekend as one of the shiftiest guards in the building. The lefty plays with control and poise, but she also has the speed and craftiness to blow by you. Her handles and ability to change direction make her one of the best downhill facilitators in the state. She also plays hard on the defensive end and will have to continue playing a big role for this team moving forward.

Laylah is one of the most exciting players in the state to watch. Her quickness and overall skill make her so difficult to defend. She can score it from anywhere, but she really excels by getting to the rim with her speed. Laylah sees the floor well, plays unselfish, and will give her team all of her effort on every possession.

Jaiden is one of the best point guards in Florida's 2028 class with her shiftiest and quick first step. Those two qualities allow her to create off the dribble and get downhill to the basket. Her ball handling and ability to change pace and direction are tough to guard, especially when she can already score it from anywhere. JP will knock down the three ball if you try to sag off and contain her dribble.

Jocelyn did a great job of controlling the tempo and playing like a vet as a guard on a very young team. She dribbled the ball low and close to her body with nice control. Her shot from deep was on point in Gainesville and looked really good. Jocelyn can truly read a defense and find the gaps with either her passing or her cutting behind the D herself.

Laila showed why she is one of the best two-way players in the state. She really locks in on defense and causes problems for the opposing teams guards. On offense, her speed and quick crossover are key for her getting around her primary defender and opening the offense up. Laila was great at finding her open teammate, finishing at the rim, or simply pulling up and elevating for a bucket.

Valeria might not be a traditional lead guard, but she's versatile enough to do a lot of things on the court. She has a quick release and her shooting ability was the most impressive part of her game with insane range behind the arc. Her runner and mid-range game was also on display as she coasted through the games in Gainesville with great poise. I was impressed with her play-making ability and how well she passed it in transition, too.
