Kaylee's recruiting is starting to reflect the caliber of player she's proven to be all summer. Seeing her perform against high-level college prospects at the Mystics Scrimmage, BCAM, and Midwest Summer Classic cemented her in my mind as a top ten prospect in the state. Kaylee's height and robust stature make her an imposing player to match up against on both ends of the court. She has excellent footwork around the basket and finishes high with a soft touch. Kaylee can step outside to hit mid-range to long jumpers and has good passing instincts in the post. She has the confidence to push the ball up the court with both hands and is in a select group of forward prospects.

The writing was on the wall when I saw Kate play for the first time in the 2024 State Semifinals--she had clear potential to be a special prospect in this class. We've seen Kate play many times since--regular season games, travel, summer league, elite camps, etc., and she's continued to improve during every evaluation cycle. Kate is a bulldog on the court. She makes opponents uncomfortable with her physical tenacity and relentless defense. Kate keeps opposing forwards from having high percentage looks at the basket, and she's consistently bottled up high-level prospects on the defensive end. Kate drives with determination to finish tough shots around the rim. She has quick feet, crafty footwork, good passing instincts, and has developed her accuracy as a perimeter shooter. Kate is a fierce rebounder and has proven herself to be a top ten prospect. She's our top power forward, and I believe she will be a difference maker for Northwood after graduation.

JB is a guard/forward combo prospect who has continued to elevate herself in my mind since the first time I watched her play at the [program_tooltip program_id='713074' first='Michigan' last='Cagers'] Invitational over a year ago. You can't put a price on athleticism, a relentless disposition, vocal leadership, toughness, and two-way impact. JB checks all of those boxes and is a player that I would feel confident giving the responsibility of shutting down the opposing team's best player--guard or forward. She's developed her perimeter shooting, makes selfless passes to open teammates, scores explosive layups, rebounds the ball fiercely, and creates separation off the dribble. I would be shocked if there weren't any D1 or D2 programs in Michigan offering JB an opportunity.

Kara is an absolute steal for the UW-Eau Claire Women's Basketball program. Hidden above the Mackinac bridge in the small town of Baraga, Kara is a prospect many missed during the recruiting process, but we did not. She came whirling through our PGH Live Tournament like a hurricane in 2024 and has continued to blow us away. After a stellar junior season, her defining moment came in head-to-head matchups against some of the top point guards in this class during the MBA Mother's Day Classic. Kara was the most impactful player on the court for Zero Star 17U against the best teams and proved she belonged with the elite point guards in this class. Her twitchy quickness, finishing dexterity, court vision, shifty handles, deadly three-point shooting, confident swagger, and pit bull toughness on both ends are exactly why she moved into our top 30.

Sophia is an exceptional point guard prospect in this class, and she's provided plenty of supporting evidence again this summer. At BCAM, she was ruthless. Sophia used shifty inside-out dribbles to score layups in transition, blew past defenders for finishes off two feet, and attacked through contact to cause fouls--converted her free throws. Sophia is physically strong, compact, and quick. She hounds the ball to force steals on defense and shifts into another gear to create transition scoring. Sophia has a smooth stroke from three-point range and fires passes on a rope to open teammates. D2/NAIA/D3 colleges in Michigan that have a spot available for a point guard should be taking a serious look at Sophia right now.
