We are just getting out of AAU season 2025 so over the next few months we will be reviewing how prospects did on the road this Spring/Summer, while also previewing the upcoming 2025-2026 High School season. Below we detail five hoopers that could and should make waves this Winter at the varsity level.

[player_tooltip player_id='752944' first='Mia' last='Jackson'] on the AAU floor is someone that cuts off of the ball really well. At Waverly during high school season, Jackson seems to possess the ball a little bite more. This is a player that doesn't need alot of time or space to score at the hoop. She just needs it for a brief second and that possession will end in either a make, free throws, or both. Jackson is going to be looked upon in big moments all Winter. As long as she prepares in the correct ways, she should see constant action and production as we get into the month of December.

[player_tooltip player_id='893232' first='Harper' last='Bohaboj'] is underrated at this point in her career for how well she would do at the collegiate level. Nothings a given but Bohaboj controls pace of place, she controls the ball and how her team's stuff runs, she isn't sped up or pressured to the point of failure very often, and she is someone that you want leading your team as a good leader and human-being. This season on the road Bohaboj has been constant. You get what you expect and from a coach's perspective at the high school level, that's a really good thing. Bennington is going to have a shot to return to State again this Winter and Bohaboj will be an important factor in that.

If Lincoln Southwest plays their cards correctly, they could do some damage this Winter at the varsity level. They have a seasoned PG to run their systems on both sides of the ball, as long as others step up into spacing and seize the opportunity, they could do some damage. Someone that I'm excited to see is [player_tooltip player_id='899083' first='Emersyn' last='Wells'] at the PF/C position. Wells is 5'11 and she does positive things. She is respectable on defense as someone that can wall up against either SF, PF, or Centers depending on her assignment. Always giving it her all. As long as Wells can grow more offensively, I like her changes to put up good numbers throughout the year.

I wouldn't say that there is pressure on [player_tooltip player_id='1221233' first='Kinley' last='Ford'] to produce over the next four years at a high level but she is in conversation for being the #1 2029 to start things off. Which does come with the territory that she has to show us what she can really do. Something that I am not worried about. Ford really is that player. Her skill-set is second to none out of the 2029 Class for the state of Nebraska. She would be the #1 player in a lot of other states as well when it comes to her pure skill-set. It's impressive. She handles, creates, facilities, and she has a DEEP bag of counter/step-thru moves. Alma is going to return a lot of solid hoopers from a year ago and adding Ford might put them over the top but we will see.

This is a vital season for [player_tooltip player_id='865481' first='Gigi' last='Owens'] on the varsity hardwood. Owens has all the intangibles coaches love. She has athletic ability, size at 6'0, skill at the guard spot, and she plays with a chip on her shoulder. She is aggressive and loves to really take it at whoever is trying to matchup with her individually. Owens is coming off of a memorable AAU Spring/Summer with her Missouri Phenom Nebraska Hub team and she is looking to make her mark at Lincoln High as a Junior. Something definitely possible if you look at all of the factors that are set into play here.
