[player_tooltip player_id='1310024' first='Halsey' last='Thomalla'] of Gothenburg High School recently received her first offer to NAIA - Doane to compete following this next Winter season. Like I said, this is Thomalla's first offer and I don't understand why. This is a 5'11 SG/CG with a picture perfect shooting stroke from all over the floor. The way that she squares up on the catch, always ready to let it fly is impressive and when you see her form along with it, it makes you wonder where she has been hiding. Gothenburg is a talented squad, that is going to have a lot of potential this Winter. They should make it back to the State Tournament with who they have on hand but it will all come down to their execution.

[player_tooltip player_id='667440' first='Dylan' last='Peterson'] of Waukee NW just grabbed an offer from JUCO - Iowa Central to give her an opportunity to compete after this Senior year. Peterson, a 5'7 PG/CG, is really solid when she has to take over. The problem is we just keep seeing her in system's where that is not needed, so many aren't aware of what she can really do. When Peterson has been at Showcases over her career, she has stood out as a main and respectable producer on both ends. Some hoopers only need one chance to make the most of it and make an instant impact where-ever they are at. I think Peterson can be that hooper as long as she stays motivated with the task at hand.

[player_tooltip player_id='1221233' first='Kinley' last='Ford'] has not played a Varsity game yet at the high school level and she just received another offer, this time from D1 - UNO out of Omaha. Ford is going to be the state of Nebraska's #1 player in the 2029 Class when that Ranking Update comes about this Winter. This may be a smaller guard but her skill-set is years beyond her age at this point. Ford can really do it all as a PG. Offensively, she can kill you off the handle, she can score at every offense level, and she can create at an extremely high rate for others around her. Defensively, she has quick hands, active feet, and natural instincts to stand out as someone who is racking up multiple tips, steals, and deflections each time she takes the floor. All in all, Ford will end her high school career with 25+ D1 offers before committing if her progression stays consistent. No doubt about it in my mind.

I am happy that [player_tooltip player_id='935274' first='Vana' last='Bilic'] is starting to get the respect she deserves from the college level moving into her Senior campaign with Waukee NW. Bilic just makes things happen. We have seen it on the Varsity floor at the State Tournament, on the AAU floor on the road, and everywhere in between. She is incredibly tough to stick in front of and stop consistently throughout the entire duration of a contest. This is a player that might not be great at anything but she is very good at everything. She is versatile in her play-style, helping her fit into a number of different systems looking towards the future, if she so chooses. Her Waukee NW team will be a top 5A contender and she is going to put up some numbers while they dominate so it'll be interesting to see who else throws their name into ring with an offer for Bilic before this upcoming Winter comes to a close.

We have recently mentioned [player_tooltip player_id='1305404' first='Ella' last='Otten'] as being a hooper out of the 2028 Class to note moving into this Winter as she transfers in from South Dakota. To start the month of August, Otten received an offer from D2 - Wayne State on her unofficial visit there. Otten is one of those that has been playing varsity ball for two years now with the rules in place in her home state of South Dakota and she is going to be a huge addition to Bishop Heelan as they attempt to go for a 4A State Title this Winter. Otten is as good as advertised. She will be able to play off of the ball or as her team's PG this Winter wherever they need her. Something that will help take the pressure off the current players they have, making everyone a little looser and dangerous on both ends. If they play their cards right, they should hoist the 4A trophy when things come to a close in Des Moines but we will see.
