On Sunday, players from around the state of Georgia as well as other states (TN, TX, AL, MI) descended upon Marietta High School for 4 hours to showcase their talent against their peers in their class. It's a refreshing event to see the classes of 2028 and 2029 compete against their own to see where they truly stand at the state level. Here are evaluations on one of the teams I scouted:

Saige is a bouncy and shifty athlete that was competing at a high level against some top guards in her class. On defense, she was capable of blocking shots and locking up the opposing teams PG with pressure using her quickness. She did a nice job of running the point and making the extra pass for an easier shot on offense. Her game was elevated when she played off of two feet or used her bounce to elevate for a runner over a defender.

Kandyce might have the highest ceiling of any 2029 I saw in Georgia. She has great size and soft touch on the interior. Her finishing ability was impressive with both hands over either shoulder with strength and a couple of And One's over the course of the showcase. The thing that stood out the most to me with her game was how much ground she was able to cover and her length when blocking shots from behind the arc, long 2's, and in the paint.

Ve'Lana immediately caught my attention in the 3x3 portion of the camp, and she continued to play well throughout. She has good size and a nice frame that works well with her motor. V was fantastic on the offensive glass and had multiple putbacks because of her relentlessness. Her game went beyond the paint as she could step out and hit the 3 ball or long 2's. In her bag, she has a really tough spin move and great elevation as she slapped the backboard with ease on one possession.

Jaydah is one of the most gifted players in the 2029 class in GA. She's one of the most acrobatic and creative finishing guards that hustles and has a lot in her bag. Her step through and hesi are incredibly tough to defend. JB can knock down the 3, move the bal welll, and can even get up and block shots on the other end.

Rayven was one of the best communicators on the floor at all times. Her mid-range game was on point with her ability to hit the stepback or a mid-range pull up. She also hit a few corner threes and showed her scoring skills by doing it from all three levels.

A'Rhianna's quickness stood out right away on Sunday. She hit multiple 3's with a nice looking stroke from deep which made her shot fake more effective to get around her defender. In transition, she made some nice passes in 2 on 1 situations by baiting the defender and dropping it off to her teammate for easy buckets.

TaNasia played a bit with the Sophomore and the Freshman classes on Sunday. Her go-to move was getting downhill and taking it strong to the rim or drawing contact while doing so. She set strong screens and had some nice moves in pick-n-roll situations. I liked her ability to read the defense and get behind them using back cuts for scores at the basket.
