We still have plenty of time before the high school season begins, and I'd like to highlight some players to know before the season arrives. There can be multiple reasons, but I'd like to put a few names out there that I think people should be aware of before the season begins. There are plenty of names to know, but we'll look at a few today.

The Milton guard played a significant role in the Red Hawks' success this past season. Butchen is a solid two-way guard who can make plays at the point of attack and was one of the players Milton had who could create something off the dribble for Milton this past season. If she takes another step, she could become among the top players in the Badger-Large Conference next season. I was a fan of what she did last season and am eager to see what she can do in her junior campaign.

[player_tooltip player_id='1045915' first='Bailey' last='Olson']

Cameron has had a solid program in the last few seasons, and Olson has been the focal point of what the Northstars have done on the offensive end. She is able to knock down shots from all three levels of the floor and force defenses to know where she is on the offensive end of the floor. She is from a more remote part of the state, but she can play at the next level.

Amelia van der Kooy

The Oconomowoc wing is a player who can knock down shots from the perimeter. The Racoon is a player who has done an excellent job finding a role and knocking down shots from beyond the three-point line. The rising junior has played different types of teams at Ocon, but has found ways to be the best version of herself within those settings. She can make things work with any type of talent around her.

[player_tooltip player_id='1275672' first='Avari' last='Steiner']

The Southwest Wisconsin native is a player whom I loved watching last season. Steiner is an electric personality who has plenty of emotion in her time on the floor. Steiner is a skilled guard who can play with or without the ball in her hands. She isn't afraid of the moment or anything and is willing to take high-pressure shots with the game on the line. Steiner has plenty of confidence and is someone who plays well within a five-person unit on the offensive end of the floor.
