We still have plenty of time before the high school season begins, and I'd like to highlight some players to know before the season arrives. There can be multiple reasons, but I'd like to put a few names out there that I think people should be aware of before the season begins. There are plenty of names to know, but we'll look at a few today.

The St. Catherine's wing is a player who has done a little of everything in her first season as an Angel. King has the size to exploit mismatches around the basket, and the skill to attack off the dribble and get to the basket. She has also proved that she can knock down shots from the perimeter if defenses leave her alone on the three-point line. King also has room to grow.

[player_tooltip player_id='914978' first='Alexis' last='Accuardi']

The DeForest forward had a solid sophomore season. Accuardi did an excellent job finishing around the basket and through contact. I also think the DeForest native has the potential to become a solid perimeter shooter if she works at it. Her form looks unorthodox, but the rotation she has on her shot is solid. She also has the length to defend around the basket and block or alter shots in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='915001' first='Jillian' last='Kunert']

The Northwestern forward has been a double-double machine when she's been on the floor for the Tigers. Her ability to control the area around the basket has helped her team compete against solid programs in the Northwestern corner of the state. She has also proven to be a solid defender around the basket, blocking or altering shots in the paint in her first few seasons. An injury kept her out for a chunk of the season, but if she's healthy in her junior season, she'll be among the top posts in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='877515' first='Samantha' last='Veldkamp']

The Sheboygan native is a skilled forward who has proven she can be a versatile player. The Eagles forward had to do everything on both ends of the floor for her team, but there is another level she can reach if she gets to the next level. Veldkamp is a player who can slot into different roles and make plays on both ends of the floor. She's a player who could surprise people if she decides to pursue basketball at the next level. There's a lot to like at the next level.
