Here we have five guards that led the way at this event with some of their guard-play on the perimeter. At these events, it's easy for players to try to play "highlight" ball to standout but when you can do so without having to play like that, it's even more impressive and that's what each player below did on Sunday in Bellevue.

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

[player_tooltip player_id='1319435' first='Valerie' last='Campos'] is going to be a productive prospect over her career at Fremont High School. Campos is a PG at 5'6 with impressive understanding out on the floor. She is a leader by example with the ball in her hands, always getting her teammates set up for success in any way possible. Campos was one of the best game leaders that we had the chance to see at this event. She controlled pace of play, tempo of her team, while being consistent through and through. If you are a coach who is looking for someone to lead your program at the next level one day, this might be a valid option depending on the situation.

It's going to be a telling Winter for Kalyn Scamman of Shenandoah High School. The reason for that is because she will not have very much help around her so she is going to be looked to produce at a high rate on both sides of the ball. She will be asked to run their offense, score at Will, and defend her own position at a high rate. Throughout this event, Scamman made some noteworthy plays as a creator and facilitator. She didn't force action, making bad choices and that helped her thrive in general. All in all, a good showing from the #14 rated 2028 out of Iowa.

We mentioned [player_tooltip player_id='1309144' first='Vayden' last='Epp'] prior to this event and for good reason. Epp was consistent last Winter as a Freshman at Alma and she has gotten better with time. Epp is a guard with a great sense of self on the court. She knows what she does best and she doesn't take no for a reason. If she is dedicated to get to a certain spot, she is going to get there in one way or another but it's not like it's a "forced" action. It always seems natural. Which is important. College coaches don't want players who force. That doesn't work in efficient systems at the next level in any version so you have to be able to adapt in the blink of an eye and Epp does that really well. Like we have said, Alma is going to be really good this Winter and a reason for that is the play of Epp's. She showed out as one of the best players at this event as a whole and that confidence should help her continue to get better as she grows older.

From the first time we saw [player_tooltip player_id='1043880' first='Destini' last='Holverson'] at this event a few years ago until now, she has gotten exponentially better as a decision maker and overall prospect. Holverson used to be one of those that shot it every time she touched the ball but not anymore. Now she plays with smarts and calculated aggression. There were SEVERAL times that she snuck behind her defender into open spaces for easy looks at the basket and within the open court during the day on Sunday. She even rebounded a few times under the hoop for some simple put-backs when those opportunities presented themselves. It's no simple task to be able to compete at Millard North. The Mustangs knows how to ball and they know how to win but if Holverson continues to grow in her play-style, who knows how far she might take things. She is only a 2028 so there is still a lot of time left on the board.

[player_tooltip player_id='836324' first='Sophia' last='Lindsey'] is one of those players that everyone loves to play with but they hate to play against. She is a fast moving PG with a balanced mixture of coordination, skill, smarts, and versatility. She might not be the tallest player out there but she makes up for it with her overall control of things. She knows when to speed up those around her, when to slow things down as a whole, and everything in between. She communicates well to those around her and she doesn't give up on a play until she hears the whistle. Gretna East is going to have some solid showings over the next two years and whenever that happens I'm sure Lindsey will have a big part in it.

Here we have five guards that led the way at this event with some of their guard-play on the perimeter. At these events, it's easy for players to try to play "highlight" ball to standout but when you can do so without having to play like that, it's even more impressive and that's what each player below did on Sunday in Bellevue.
