PGH Expo: Team 8 Evaluations

The 2025 Expo was loaded with talent as 80 prospects took the court on September 27th, 2025. Our format included 4 hours of games split up into predetermined 3v3 and 5v5 matchups. Let's talk about media exposure. There have been thousands of views on X of coverage provided by our scouts during the event, and our articles will be read by hundreds. Every participant is featured in our post-event articles, which is a unique and special aspect of the Prep Girls Hoops showcases. Girls had the opportunity to play for different college coaches. My coverage focused primarily on teams 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8. Here are a few highlights for each player from Team 8 below!    Lily has length, athleticism, and aggressiveness that immediately grabs your attention when she steps onto the court. She crashes the boards and muscles her way into position to secure rebounds. Lily attacks gaps and accelerates towards the rim to score layups and earn trips to the free-throw line. She makes an impact on the defensive end and is a competent ball-handler with a variety of moves at her disposal. Lily has clear potential as a next-level prospect and she proved it again at the PGH Expo with Team 8.     Jayna was an MVP at the Freshman Showcase, and she had another strong showing this year with Team 8 at the PGH Expo. Jayna's high motor, solid physical build, and determination made her nearly unstoppable when driving to the basket. Jayna takes the ball to the rim like a running back accelerating through a gap, and she earned many trips to the free-throw line. Jayna drained a deep wing three, deflected passes with active hands, and converted shots from the charity stripe. She sprinted in to secure an offensive rebound and finished with a strong and-one off two feet. Jayna used a swift spin move to avoid a defender and finished another and-one off two feet. She earned recognition as a Top Performer.     Sophie was one of the biggest stock risers at the PGH Expo, and she had a noteworthy day for Team 8. Sophie has length, a polished offensive game, and makes smart decisions with the ball in her hands. Sophie shot the ball efficiently from three-point distance off the catch and the dribble, knocking down many triples--she has deep range. Sophie handled the ball confidently with both hands, looked to feed cutters, and made a great kick-out pass to the corner for an assist after penetrating with her dribble. She blew by defenders and finished layups through contact. Sophie scored effectively off two feet and earned recognition as a Top Performer.     Lydia came sprinting out of the gates during 3v3. She worked hard to secure offensive rebounds and was lethal during pick-and-roll actions. Lydia sealed her defender and converted multiple layups off two feet. She kept the momentum going during games with Team 8. Lydia was active on the boards and used a shot-fake before scoring a tough and-one floater off the glass. She added an exclamation point with another strong and-one layup off the dribble. Her high motor and comprehensive impact resulted in recognition as a Top Performer.     Gigi is a do-it-all guard, and she energized Team 8 with her toughness, effort, and playmaking at the PGH Expo. Gigi buried a straightaway three and finished a full-speed layup in transition off two feet. She earned a trip to the foul line after outworking a defender to secure an offensive rebound and knocked down the free throw. Gigi created steals on defense with her ball pressure and was an effective facilitator. She doesn't do too much, shares the ball, and has great touch on her floaters.     Paige drove hard to the basket and converted a tough layup in traffic high off the glass. She handled the ball with confidence and worked hard on both ends of the court. Paige can set up teammates and knock down shots from the perimeter. She fit right in with Team 8 at the PGH Expo.     Aubrey contributed to Team 8 on both ends of the court and showed her competitive drive at the PGH Expo. She made the effort plays and chased down a breakaway to deflect the ball out of bounds. Aubrey had quick feet and worked hard on the defensive end. She dished out accurate passes and handled the ball confidently with both hands.     M.J. is a talented court general and playmaker who made a great first impression at the PGH Expo. She started strong during 3v3, swiping the ball away and dropping in a floater off the dribble. M.J. grabbed an offensive rebound and scored another floater. She used a smart backdoor cut off the ball and attacked hard downhill to score a strong and-one finish off the glass. Her productivity continued during the games with Team 8. M.J. dished out an assist after creating a steal, and drilled a smooth three from the corner and the wing. She pushed the ball with speed in transition, using both hands, and was a dynamic guard at the showcase.
