8 - Jamestown Bluejays

I like this Blueyjays squad a lot. They just happen to be in a loaded region which is why I have them near the bottom of the pack. They play hard and have a couple of really nice players. They will compete each night and run a lot of nice sets. Jamestown is a team that could beat anyone on any given night if they play well. They return an All-WDA player in [player_tooltip player_id='1253369' first='Hannah' last='Attleson']. She was a rebounding machine, finishing near the top of the league last season in rebounds per game. She will need to improve her scoring if Jamestown is going to beat good teams. [player_tooltip player_id='779984' first='Adisyn' last='Yunck'] is a young point guard that will be looking to take the next step. [player_tooltip player_id='1246815' first='Macey' last='Neumiller'] is probably their most talented player and will have a chance at the All-WDA team this year. [player_tooltip player_id='1224882' first='Claire' last='Marker'] is a really athletic sophomore who showed some promise as a prospect last season.

9 - Minot North Sentinels

The Sentinels scraped together 6 wins last year, competing fiercely with the 'middle-of-the-pack' teams. They have some potential to sneak a few more of those wins this season with another varsity season under their belt. It can take a few years for a new program to get established and find their identity and Minot North is currently in that grueling process. They have one of the best players in the region in [player_tooltip player_id='1126184' first='Elli' last='Laskowski']. The 6' forward is a scoring machine but will need some supplemental help this year. Aven Kelly and Kinzy Welstad are two players that come to mind. These 2026's will need to increase their scoring this year, something I think they are capable of doing.

10 - Dickinson Mavericks

Dickinson finished a tough season last year on a 19 game losing streak and 0 conference wins. They have a more established squad going into this year and I think have potential to improve their wins to the 4-5 range, a substantial improvement and something they can be proud of. Their best player is 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='1132745' first='Abby' last='Praus']. She is a prolific scorer and set the single game 3-point makes record last season. She had a great offseason and is ready to have another great year. Jenna Nelson is a long 6' forward with great defensive skill. 2029's [player_tooltip player_id='1126172' first='Ali' last='Stevenson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1152567' first='Tatum' last='Fisher'] found some varsity action last year as 8th graders. There is a rumor that a talented 7th grader had a nice summer for Dickinson. This all points to a bright future if you are a Maverick fan.
