Recruitment Update: October 24th, 2025

Here are a few athletes out of Iowa that have either recently committed or they have recently been offered to compete at the next level following their impressive AAU seasons this Summer.   Every player listed has shown off their skill-set over the years with their varsity high school team and that has helped them prove to recruiters that they have what it takes to suit up at the next level following their high school careers.    Grand View (NAIA) got a little bit better this past week when [player_tooltip player_id='638015' first='Maryne' last='Szalo'] committed to their program. Szalo is more of a CG/SF. She is skilled around the hoop with sharp knowledge of the game but she can also step out to hit a jumper when she has time and space. I see Szalo as a 3 at the next level more times than not but who knows. I think she will have a few spots she could adapt too. It'll really come down to what the Grand View system calls for when Szalo gets on roster.     The highly coveted Brynlie Hadenfedt is off the board to D3 - Colorado College. Colorado College has been on the up and up the past few years at their level and this commitment is only going to make them stronger. Hadenfeldt is a Swiss-army knife type player right now and I think that will be the same at the collegiate level as well. Offensively, she is going to be a force that can punish smaller others underneath or she can step out and attack from the outside off the dribble. Defensively, she can wall up against taller opponents to hold her own or she can stick with someone who might be a little bit smaller. Again, this is a STEAL for Colorado College. If they use her in the right ways, B.H. is going to thrive within their system over the next 4-5 years.     [player_tooltip player_id='1195829' first='Kate' last='Bechtel'] received another collegiate offer this past month when Illinois College Women's Basketball (D3) threw their hat in the ring for the talented Small Forward. Bechtel is the driving force inside the paint for Lake Mills the past few seasons. She has been consistent in the aspects of rebounding, scoring underneath, and defending in-between the blocks each time she takes the floor. If there is a play being made in the middle of the paint, you can bet that K.B. is involved. I'm not sure that this is where she will end up when things are said and done but it's definitely another nice option to have at this point.     [player_tooltip player_id='1195830' first='Grace' last='Bechtel'] is the guard prospect out of the pair of the Bechtel sisters and she recently received an offer from the University of Dubuque to compete at the next level following this Winter. Bechtel is more of the attack off the dribble, find others off the dribble - type player. She can control pace of play with her handle, she isn't someone who is sped up under pressure, and she can orchastrate those around her into the right spots for the group to be successful. I'm sure these sisters will end up going to the next level together and whoever gets them is going to get a pair who can go. Which is something you just love to see from an outside perspective.     [player_tooltip player_id='867471' first='Ashleigh' last='Amble'] is going to have a chance to make an impact at the collegiate level because of her natural height and her willingness to learn from those around her. Amble has recently committed to Wartburg to continue on with her basketball journey. This is a solid pickup for the power house that is D3 - Wartburg. A group that is always on top of their conference should have the means to really shape Amble into a productive prospect at that level. She puts up some respectable numbers at the high school level but I'm more interested in seeing how she turns out in college. If she can get things to click a little bit more, who knows how good she could become.
