Here we have four hoopers who will impact winning this next six months with their Varsity squads because of their consistency, balance, and overall smart style-of-play out on the floor.

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

The English Valleys Bears made an impactful Playoff run last Winter throughout the 1A Class as they ended up finishing out their season with a loss to North Linn. One of the most important players in this journey was SF/CG - [player_tooltip player_id='1326655' first='Ava' last='Gehrking']. Gehrking stands around 5'10 with some impressive understanding of the game of basketball from a strategic standpoint. She can hold her own inside the lane against weaker matchups or she can attack from the outside by putting the ball on the ground while attacking the teeth of the defense. If the Bears want to compete for a 1A State Title over the next few year, prospects like Gehrking will need to continue to be a constant.

The size that [player_tooltip player_id='865264' first='Nataliya' last='Linder'] takes with the hardwood with is noteworthy. Linder, the 6'1 Forward, has some guard like tendencies and she understands how to uses them but she really makes her money near the hoop with her ability to crash the boards, score, and defend at such a consistent rate. If North Mahaska wants to make some more production on their past year's success, Linder will need to be the main piece to their puzzle. Her size alone is going to be tall enough to average a double-double in the first half of contests if used correctly and she is properly motivated. We will just have to see how everything plays out.

[player_tooltip player_id='1326664' first='Kaylee' last='Traver'] stepped up last year as one of Sioux Center's premier three point deep threats off the catch. Traver took about 105 shot attempts on the Winter with 63 of them coming from behind the arc. Out of these 63 attempts, she converted around 20 of those for good buckets. It seemed like at the end both year during the Playoffs, Traver really stepped up her game play. She was making most of the shots she was taking, she was keeping things simple without forcing unneeded attempts, and she produced at a steady rate without having the ball in her possession a majority of the time. All in all, this is someone who should have more opportunity this time around. If she shows her consistency to kick things off over the next month, who knows how far she could take things.

Don't get it twisted. The guard play for Cherokee Washington High School is what has led them in recent history but their force in the middle also deserves some credit in [player_tooltip player_id='833967' first='Deidra' last='Doeden']. Doeden, a 6'1 Center, is usually the tallest and most dominate prospect on the floor at any given moment. There really aren't many times when she is the undersized Center or Forward within a situation and that helps Cherokee Washington control the middle of the paint each night. With a force like this cleaning up the glass, defending, and scoring thoroughly, while they also have a very talented PG/CG to lead them down the floor and you start to see why they win so many contests. This team is another that should have a good shot at making it back to the State Tournament. If they continue to improve from last season, they will be in a great shape competitively.

Here we have four hoopers who will impact winning this next six months with their Varsity squads because of their consistency, balance, and overall smart style-of-play out on the floor.
