Byron’s Breakout Players So Far This Season

However, there have already been several breakout performances from some players up until this point. </h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>[player_tooltip player_id='883515' first='Sadie' last='Lang'] - Lang has been one of my favorite players to watch, simply because you see the growth in her development game by game. The confidence has no sense of wavering, and she seems to always be up to take on the big moments. She's put up some big numbers in the box scores over her first couple of games, and there is probably no slowing down in sight. She has a chance to be one of the best prospects in the state.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>[player_tooltip player_id='881796' first='Scarlett' last='Harris'] - Scarlett will be adding value to the varsity program this year, and she's already established herself as the energy player for them. She'll be able to put up numbers on the offensive side, but I believe her energy will be needed a lot more on the defensive side as a versatile player who can guard perimeter to post. </li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>[player_tooltip player_id='616776' first='Joslynn' last='James'] - One of the best guards in the state, no matter the class. James has a skillset that seems to come naturally, but there's definitely some work being put in behind the scenes. She uses her size to finish around or above the traffic, and has strong playmaking knowledge as well. Valpo has a steal.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>[player_tooltip player_id='879582' first='Londyn' last='Sommerville'] - Sommerville has been the key piece for Richwoods since she's been there, and with a guard coming to help alleviate some of the pressure, Sommerville has been able to show a little more to her game. She's been crashing the boards, showing a softer touch, and just overall is showing more versatility. </li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>[player_tooltip player_id='874663' first='Destinie' last='Roe'] - We knew offensively what Destinie would bring to this Trinity squad in year one, but she's established herself as the paint blanket for this program going forward. She is still sharpening her skillset on the offensive side (she's damn good now), but the defense will be her calling card, and it won't be a shocker to see her get at least 2 blocks per game.</li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>[player_tooltip player_id='954119' first='Liv' last='Johnson'] - Johnson is one of the top 10 prospects in this state regardless of her class, and even though we will for sure she would be dominant, sometimes there's an adjustment for a freshman... but Liv is making it known she's here already. When it comes to getting to the rim and finishing.. there's nothing that will stop her. She takes long strides and can muscle her way through contact. </li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list --> <!-- wp:list --> <ul class="wp-block-list"><!-- wp:list-item --> <li>[player_tooltip player_id='514944' first='Trinity' last='Jones'] - The best player and prospect in the state casually broke a long time scoring record when she put up 43 to win against the defending champs, Kenwood this week. She is back to being the most dominant player to lineup against.. and I don't think 43 will be her career high before the end of the year. </li> <!-- /wp:list-item --></ul> <!-- /wp:list -->
