Miss Iowa Basketball is one of the most prestigious awards that someone can receive throughout their career as a hooper in high school. In this article we highlight six prospects out of the 2026 Class that could win the award over the next six months. This award is NOT only given to Seniors so we also have some other players listed as HM's, who happened to be out of the 2027 and 2028 Classes as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='557354' first='Jenica' last='Lewis'] -

The front runner for this award this year to start things off. Lewis, the ND commit, has been a star for three year's now at the Varsity level and I expect little to change about that situation over the next six months. This is a legacy year for Lewis in my eyes. This is the first time we will truly get to be able to see her with very limited help from her teammates so I want to see how far she can lead things with her Johnston team. If she plays to her full capabilities, she should be hoisting this award before we know it.

[player_tooltip player_id='342205' first='Jayla' last='Williams'] -

[player_tooltip player_id='342205' first='Jayla' last='Williams'] is in a situation where the further she can take her team during the Playoffs, the better. Williams, the Creighton WBB commit, is highly considered the best defender in the state at the Guard position no matter the age or Class level. She is going to be an instant impact with the Bluejays next season but first she has some unfinished business to take care of. The business being getting her team to Des Moines at the end of the season with her seasoned and strategic play. If she can do that and the Johnston Dragons don't have the best year and this conversation for Miss Iowa 2026 becomes VERY interesting.

[player_tooltip player_id='509225' first='Averie' last='Lower'] -

We are expecting some big numbers out of [player_tooltip player_id='509225' first='Averie' last='Lower'] of CCA High School but will that be enough to help her be named Miss Iowa 2026? I'm not sure. Lower is the best shooter that the state of Iowa has to offer at this point. She is going to be a killer with the Sun Devils but prior she will look to help her Clipper team to another appearance at the State Tournament. For Lower to truly be considered for this award, she is going to have to put together her best season to date while leading her team to a 4A Title. If she can do that and people above her slip up, then there is a chance.

[player_tooltip player_id='582813' first='Ellie' last='Muller'] -

The only Post prospect in consideration for this award to start this year is [player_tooltip player_id='582813' first='Ellie' last='Muller'] of Dowling Catholic. Muller is the life force inside the lane for whatever team she is suing up with. She is listed as a generous 6'3, with touch on the ball, balance, and smart head on her shoulders. She understands what her job and role is every time she competes and that is vital to her success on both ends. She is someone that opposing team's must game plan against or else it'll end up in a block party for Muller. All in all, Mizzou got a steal in this pickup from Muller and she will have a chance to state her case of Miss Iowa Basketball 2026 this season. Those are two things you just love to see from an outside point-of-view.

[player_tooltip player_id='502100' first='Macy' last='Comito'] -

[player_tooltip player_id='502100' first='Macy' last='Comito'] will be a force this Winter with a chance to make the most of her last season at Carlisle High School. Comito just signed to Iowa State WBB yesterday and she couldn't be happier. The seasoned PG is ready to lace up her kicks for one last ride with her Varsity Wildcats program and she is ready to show the state what's up. With the numbers that this group will have this year and with their chance to go to State, Comito should be in this conversation at the end of the season. She is obviously skilled enough, now it's all about the run she can put together for her last go around of high school ball. As you can tell, the situation of each player MATTERS. Whoever can give us a better storyline at the end of the year, always seems to have their name pop up in this conversation so we will just have to wait and see how it all plays out.

[player_tooltip player_id='510277' first='Izzy' last='Eisbach'] -

This one is a pure numbers standpoint. Eisbach returns as the State's leading PPG player from last Winter and she should have a chance to hold that title for another Winter season over the next few months. While playing out of the 2A Class it will be hard for people to take Eisbach's numbers as serious as others but anyone that has seen her play knows what she brings to the floor. She is a lights out shooter from deep, she can handle and run her team's system's on both ends, and she is a heck of a teammate. All of those things will be in her favor to help her in this competition for this award. I'm not sure if she will receive any first place votes but she should. Only player last year to score over 50 in a game on over 40% shooting while also scoring over 40 and 45 multiple times to try and help her team's cause. That is not something you see everyday.

(Honorable Mentions: [player_tooltip player_id='582806' first='Trishelle' last='Miller'], [player_tooltip player_id='777225' first='Katie' last='Muller'], [player_tooltip player_id='777232' first='Melina' last='Snoozy'], [player_tooltip player_id='643486' first='Jhaliana' last='Guy'], [player_tooltip player_id='777233' first='Romey' last='Croatt'], [player_tooltip player_id='883552' first='Braylyn' last='Birmingham'])
