[player_tooltip player_id='1091297' first='Cameron' last='Haifley'] of Keota High School has been pretty impressive to start this season in the stat books. Haifley, a 5'7 SG, is putting up noticeable numbers throughout her first two games of high school action for her Sophomore season. She is currently averaging 22 PPG, 5 RPG, 5 APG, 4.5 SPG, & 5 BPG while doing a little bit of everything. I think the most impressive stat so far is that she is recording 5 Blocks per game in her team's first two victories of the Winter. She is staying down defensively and perfectly timing a lot of her opponents shots when they go up to attempt, usually leading to a block in some form a majority of the time. I expect Cameron to keep up with these types of numbers for the rest of this Winter. With her skill level and the competition at hand, she should continue to have success.

[player_tooltip player_id='839328' first='Madisen' last='Kellogg'] definitely let it be known to everyone paying attention that she is a high volume SG, who is not afraid to let it fly from all over the court. In Winfield-Mt. Union's first contest of the Winter, Kellogg recorded 39 Points (17/27), 12 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 3 Steals, & 3 Turnovers in a 59-18 win over New London High School. Kellogg registered these stats in all sorts of ways. She was a multiple level scoring threat offensively, going 4/6 from behind the arc while also getting into the midrange or all the way to the bucket for a finish multiple times in a row. She also crashed the boards hard, recording 8 offensive rebounds, leading to more offensive opportunities in general for her squad. This was a good showing for Kellogg and the Wolves in general so hopefully they can build on that moving into the rest of their season.

When we wrote about Southeast Polk High School and their game against IC - Liberty to start this week we did not mention [player_tooltip player_id='777230' first='Halle' last='Clark'] but we could have with her consistent ability to make a play for the Rams. Clark was someone that was consistently staying aggressive, attempting to get to the free throw as much as possible in their first contest of the year. I think it's safe to say she accomplished that goal by getting to line 13 times and making 10 of those 13 attempts. Whenever Liberty started to pull away, Clark would get a take to the rim off the dribble for a simple finish or for a finish through contact. In the end the Rams fell short by a couple of points and Clark finished with 21 on 5/10 shooting from the field. A valiant effort from a group that could do some damage as this Winter goes on.

Bettendorf High School has started off their season with a bang, winning both of their first two contests by 20+ when the final buzzer sounded. Their leader for one more go around is none other than [player_tooltip player_id='612984' first='Alyvia' last='McCorkle'], the Houston WBB commit. McCorkle is making her mark per usual to start this season. She is scoring at a high rate while getting downhill to the bucket, she is defending her position with impressive intensity, and she is hitting others when they get open off of her creation. The Bulldogs should put together a respectable Winter under McCorkle's leadership. If she plays to her fill capabilities, she will have a chance to lead the Bulldogs to the State Tournament come Playoff time. They just have to take it one game at a time.

[player_tooltip player_id='1447898' first='Ella' last='Turner'] would be considered an undersized SF at 5'8 in general but within her conference that is not the case. I would say with the mixture of athletic ability, motor, and knowledge of the game that Turner possesses makes up for her not being the tallest on the hardwood at all times. Creston has begun their Winter with a 2-0 record and Turner has been a big reason for that. She is currently averaging a double-double in PPG-RPG, holding her own and controlling the paint at a high rate. This is another situation where I expect Creston to continue on this path for most of their season moving forward. With who they have on roster and who they have to play, they have a lot of favorable matchups so we will just have to see how things play out.
