[player_tooltip player_id='777226' first='Maryn' last='Franken'] is the favorite to be conference player of the year in the Siouxland Conference. Franken, the SDSU WBB commit, is sure to put up impressive numbers in the PPG, RPG, SPG, & BPG categories as the main source of production for her Sioux Center squad. Franken and company made some lean way last year as they went 21-3, 14-2 in conference but this Winter they will lose 2/3 of their starters due to graduation so Franken will have even more opportunity. Considering she averaged 15 PPG, 9 RPG, & 4 APG with steady help in the past, I'm sure she is going put up even more impressive stat lines over the next six months for her Junior campaign.

The knockdown SG that is [player_tooltip player_id='582807' first='Haevyn' last='Ranschau'] will have one more season with Rock Valley before taking her talents to the next level. Ranschau has been considered one of the best shooters in the state of Iowa for years now. She is coordinated with her footwork and balance coming off screens or movement, which helps her catch within rhythm for effortless attempts from deep. She can also pull up off the dribble when given a small window of space and time, which is pretty impressive. The past three years Ranschau has put up noteworthy numbers and I don't expect that to change over the next few months. Rock Valley will be a tough team to beat this Winter in general. They have elite guard play and serviceable Post players down low so they just need to work together and the rest will play itself out perfectly.

The running partner along with [player_tooltip player_id='582807' first='Haevyn' last='Ranschau'] is her twin sister Hudsyn and both sisters are such to put up some eye-opening stat lines this Winter. Hudsyn is someone that can shoot the ball just as well, she is good under pressure, and she can also handle it a fair amount. This is all pretty impressive considering that Haevyn is one of the best shooters that the state of Iowa has to offer moving into the next few months. I expect Rock Valley to do their thing moving forward. These are two individuals that we are sure to hear about more and more as we move into 2026 if they play to their full capabilities as SG and playmakers.

Central Lyon will be looking for a new main #1 producer this Winter and the person up for the job will be PG/SG - [player_tooltip player_id='1215769' first='Danika' last='Hoogendoorn']. Hoogendoorn leaves her finger prints all over the game whenever she is competing. She is someone that can play multiple positions with her skill-set but she really thrives when she can run her team's system as their main ball-handler. She is also able to score at such a thorough rate that she COULD move to the 2 or 3 if need be but it's not position #1. Last season Hoogendoorn averaged over 11 PPG, 6 RPG, & 4 APG in her efforts as the team's 2nd or 3rd option. This season she should return as the top dawg for the Lions so you can imagine what she might be able to put together.

[player_tooltip player_id='1091298' first='Maicy' last='Baker'] put together a promising Freshman season last Winter with MOC-Floyd Valley as they finished off the 2024-2025 season with a 10-12 record. Baker demonstrated her worth mainly at the PG position, handing out some swift assists while also scoring it herself whenever she needed too. She isn't the type to try and kill her opponent with flash but more-so with her fundamental game. She knows how to get past her initial defender and into the teeth of the defense off the dribble, helping her open up the floor to a bunch of different possibilities offensively. On defense, she makes quick work of sticking on the person in front of her within her matchup. She never is the type to get beat off her first step and she is always mentally locked in on what could be coming at her next. I think Baker has a memorable season ahead. If she has been working this off-season, she will be just fine.
