2027 Player Rankings Update: Stock-Risers

To be a, “Stock-Riser”, means a few things depending on how you look at it but the most important factor in my opinion is that the prospect is continuously putting in meaningful work in their off-time and that work is translating to the floor in real game-time. In this piece, we cover five individuals out of this 2027 Class in Iowa, that have embodied what it means to be a Stock-Riser these past few months.   Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!    [player_tooltip player_id='677842' first='Tylee' last='Weite'] has been playing some productive basketball to start this Winter with DSM Valley. Weite is a 5'10 SG with a quick trigger from deep. She lets the ball fly from behind the three point line multiple times a contest and each time it looks like the shot is going to be perfect. It might not go in every time but her shot form, footwork, coordination, and when she is choosing to shoot is on point right now. Weite possesses several D1 offers as we move into the thick of this season. If she keeps putting up impressive stat lines while being a solid overall teammate, who knows who else might jump in before she ends up committing somewhere.     [player_tooltip player_id='833953' first='Callie' last='Hales'] has solidified herself as one of the best overall PG in this 2027 Class in Iowa the past six months. Hales is PG #1 in a lot of regards. She understands the game from a strategic standpoint and she knows how to maximize her capabilities on the floor at all times better than most. She would be considered a pass-first PG but she can score it and get her own at a thorough rate if need be as well. One of the best part of Hales play-style is her fundamentals. This is a prospect that always seems to play off of two feet, knowing that a strong base and pivoting options can take you a long way when you might be undersized in a situation. I'm not sure where Hales will end up but I know that there are a few D2 schools in the running for her commitment so we will just have to see how it plays out.     You could consider [player_tooltip player_id='751962' first='Eleanor' last='Coughlin'] a role player for her St. Albert High School program but she is crucial in their quest to win back2back 1A State Titles. Coughlin is a heck of an athlete, which makes sense as she is a standout across the state in Soccer. Coughlin has that speed, endurance, and knowledge to produce against most others on the Basketball court. Defensively, she can stick on any other quick guard with her endurance, usually grabbing a handful of steals or defections in the process. Like I said, Coughlin might not score 30 a game but she steps up when it matters the most. We saw that last year when St. Albert won their Championship and we are seeing it once again this year. Now they have to continue to ride that momentum.     The potential that [player_tooltip player_id='923916' first='Lizzie' last='Beam'] has is noteworthy. Beam is a player that showed up to our PGH Showcase this Fall and dominated. She was easily one of the best prospects in the gym and she has continued to show what she can to start off this Junior year of her's. This Jaguars team is young and getting their feet underneath themselves still but if they put it together, they could make some sort of run come Playoff time. Beam is a SG standing at 5'10/5'11 and she is versatile. She can be your driver and attack at the basket, she can catch and knock down three's, she can work out of the Midpost, and she can even post up smaller defenders that get in her way when she has time + space. With all that being said, Beam is still learning. She just needs to keep working and the results will be promising.     [player_tooltip player_id='865264' first='Nataliya' last='Linder']'s name jumps off the paper when you see that she is labeled as a 6'1 SF/PG but when you watch her game, you understand that she could be labeled the 1-5 right now within her high school program at North Mahaska. Linder does a little bit of everything when she is competing. She records rebounds, blocks, steals, points, and even some assists - always making it looks easy in one way or another. As we always say, you can't teach height. To be able to be 6'1 and move how Linder does, it is impressive but there is still work to be done. Linder could end up as a college Basketball player or even a college Volleyball player at the end of the day. She will probably have some choices but for now she is locked in on the season at hand as we move into the New Year.
