This Week’s Playmakers and Orchestrators

Heading into the week Tatum had lead her team to an undefeated record. She has orchestrated the attack of arguably the top team on the First Coast. She is one of the best at controlling the pace and tempo of the game, and moreover, one of the top playmakers on the high school level. The Senior orchestrator can get to the rim and score, but is just as comfortable getting to the rim and dishing to a teammate for the bucket. This past week Tatum was consistently around the 12 point -5 assist mark. She handles the ball the majority of the time and always protects the ball and makes great on court decisions.       Week in and week out [player_tooltip player_id='933334' first='Shelby' last='Gaines'] is consistently putting up numbers that are not seen too often on the high school level. Gaines scored 22, 29, and 26 in her last three outings. The senior guard is not only scorching the scoreboard, but is also tearing it up on the glass- and from the guard position. Even more impressive is that she is averaging a double- double in points and rebounds for the season. Gaines went over the 1000 point mark and and now has her sights set on 1500 points. She has been one of the most consistent offensive players in the first half of the season. Every outing Gaines is threatening to score 25 points and grab at lease 10 boards. What makes her scoring even more impressive is that her scoring comes from mainly from midrange daggers and layups off of turnovers and fast break scores. Gaines is not just the orchestrator on the offensive end, but leads her team's defensive effort as well.     [player_tooltip player_id='708144' first='Jocelyn' last='Hoffmann'] (Ponte continues to establish herself as one of the most dangerous point guards and playmakers in the 2028 class and in Florida. Hoffmann delivered a scoring surge that was felt around the state: 33 points against Ed White, 21 vs Riverside and 22 vs Oakleaf, knocking down a remarkable 20 three-pointers during the three-game stretch. Hoffmann's ability to run the point, orchestrate the offense and shoot the ball with great efficiency is next level productivity. Her shooting opened driving lanes for teammates and created open looks for her teammates.     [player_tooltip player_id='515110' first='Jacoreyn' last='Andrews'] showed strong command of the offense, handling the ball with confidence and poise at the Battle on the Island. Andrews attacked the rim with purpose, delivering dime after dime- someher team converted, while other dimes were not cashed in. The offensive orchestrator displayed great court vision especially in transition. She pushed the pace effectively, including several well-timed dishes to [player_tooltip player_id='221598' first='Trinity' last='Berry']. Andrews was impactful on both ends of the floor and the way she ran the offense was very productive and impressive.         [player_tooltip player_id='221598' first='Trinity' last='Berry'] faced a double team throughout the ball game, but still managed to put on a scoring display primarily in the transition game, taking advantage of every scoring opportunity that she got. Fleming Island came into the game determined not to let Berry beat them and did a good job of executing the game plan. Berry countered by running the floor and making play after play in the transition game. She also connected on several threes and got to the freethrow line. Berry made the plays by running the floor and she also opened the floor up for her teammates by accepting the constant double teams.
