Unfortunately, as of late, the weather has had many a Palmetto State resident in as much of a frenzy as any weather forecast has. With the recent winter storm that South Carolina experienced, it has had a significant effect on the high school sports schedule.

Hopefully, the transition of January 2026 to February 2026 means we can put its poor weather in the backburner. Not only has there been a plethora of great basketball recently, but individual milestones are being reached left and right. We released a pair of articles centering on 1,000-point scorers and now turn our attention to names that achieved other lofty career accolades.

Wright contributed to a dominant performance with 13 points and eight rebounds. She is one of six juniors on this year's Bulldogs team. Wright has averaged 5.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.3 steals per matchup. Camden, coached by Lewis Mungo, was ranked fourth in the most recent 4A coaches' poll.

Coach Stephanie Butler-Graham's 4A South Pointe team has put together another stellar season – one where the Stallions have not lost a game against an opponent from the Palmetto State. The star sophomore guard recently reached the 1,500-point plateau for her career. Lucas has played at the varsity level since she was in the seventh grade and has played in all 20 games this season. She has averaged 17.7 points, 5.8 assists, 4.7 steals and 3.2 rebounds per game this season. The Stallions were recently ranked third in the most recent 4A coaches' poll – only behind Westside and defending champion North Augusta.

One of the premier bigs in the Palmetto State, she has received a laundry list of collegiate offers since the AAU season ended. This season, Cunningham has only reached 1,800 points for her career but also 1,000 rebounds. East Tennessee State, Detroit Mercy, Winthrop, Fordham, Loyola Maryland, Wofford, North Carolina Central, North Carolina A&T and College of Charleston have all recently offered Cunningham. She is another reason why South Pointe is once again one of the teams to beat in the 4A ranks. The Stallions – ranked third in the most recent 4A coaches' poll – have greatly benefitted from the double-double of 19.7 points and 12.2 rebounds she has averaged. Cunningham has also averaged 2.6 steals a contest.

The arrival of McMillan to SCISA 4A Hammond has paid massive dividends for the Skyhawks. Hammond, which won only one game in 2024-25, has put together a double-digit winning 2025-26 season. McMillan recently brought down the 500th rebound of her career. During last year's AAU season, she wore the AEBL Girlz uniform. The Skyhawks' lone loses of the season have occurred against SCISA 4A schools First Baptist and Ben Lippen as well as 5A Division 1 publics Dutch Fork and Spring Valley. McMillan adds the 500-rebound achievement to when she reached 1,000 points for her career last season. She has played at the varsity level since she was a seventh grader.

A team has to beat the champs in order to be the champs. Grant and her 4A North Augusta assembling made an emphatic statement in a home region contest against Gray Collegiate that the path to 4A state may still go through the CSRA. She reached the 1,500-point plateau for her illustrious career under coach Al Young's tutelage. North Augusta routed the War Eagles by a final score of 59-21 this past Tuesday. Through 18 games, the Yellow Jackets star senior has averaged 10.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.9 steals per contest. Grant has already won two state championships with North Augusta and is in search of a third as her high school career nears its conclusion. Two words – unsigned senior.

When this season concludes for Thomas and her 5A Division 1 defending champion Blythewood team, Thomas will keep her hoops talents in-state as she has committed to Division I SC State for her collegiate career. The Bengals recently defeated Spring Valley in a 74-29 rout. Thomas reached the 2,000-point mark for her career. As of this writing, Blythewood has an excellent chance to repeat its state feat from last season. Thomas' play is a key reason why the Bengals are 17-4 as of this writing and 8-0 in its region. She has averaged a double-double of 22 points and 11.7 rebounds plus four assists and 2.3 steals per game.
