In this article I just wanted to talk about who are some top teams as we head into the end of January and move closer to state tournament time. Here we will be starting with 4A.

Davis HS: Current Record: 12-2

Davis got off to a great start this season, winning an early game against Bellevue who is another top team in the state. They traveled to Oregon for a holiday tournament in late December, splitting 4 games against some of the top squads in Oregon. [player_tooltip player_id='827947' first='Cheyenne' last='Hull'] has really been showing why she is a top player in the entire state, keeping the team on her back and winning games without fellow start, Neveah Parrish who missed some games to start the season with an injury. [player_tooltip player_id='677261' first='Averie' last='Brandt'] has stepped up this season, looking more well rounded and a player who can step up big in big situations. They recently beat Lake Washington too, another top 4A team. They have yet to lose to a WA state program and I am not sure if they will. They are favorites to repeat as 4A champs.

Gonzaga Prep: Current Record: 14-0

Gonzaga Prep has yet to lose a game this season, winning a game early in the season against Ridgeline but dominated them the next time out. They have yet to really be challenged as they have dominated within their conference and even their non conference matchups against Bellarmine Prep, Seattle Prep, and others. Their end of the year matchup with Mead will be a great one but there's a chance this team could enter postseason play undefeated. [player_tooltip player_id='748943' first='Aylah' last='Cornwall'] has continued her excellent play, being a top player in the state and being able to elevate all her teammates games in a big way. [player_tooltip player_id='1138298' first='Belle' last='Hernandez'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1049371' first='Laura' last='Thompson'] are some other seniors to know on the team.

Union HS: Current Record: 15-2

Union has one of the best players in the entire state in [player_tooltip player_id='317132' first='Brooklynn' last='Haywood']. She averages over 30 points a night and has had games of 40+ this season. She scores so smoothly, having an elite jumper and the ability to pick defenses apart with her hesitation and shiftiness on the court. [player_tooltip player_id='1051361' first='Myla' last='Larry'] is a defensive force and a player who plays in transition smoothly and has high level defense. Their freshman duo of [player_tooltip player_id='1350114' first='Aleya' last='Smith'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1249193' first='Kadee' last='Spike'] have been producing big minutes and seem like the future of this team. They have great wins against North Thurston, Lake Washington, Tahoma, and Eastside Catholic. Their 2 losses came when they traveled to Alaska and played some solid teams, one of those games being a buzzer beater that came after time expired but the refs ruled it good. They are playing fantastic as a team and continue to be a team to watch.

Woodinville HS: Current Record: 16-2

Woodinville has a lot of talent, including [player_tooltip player_id='580531' first='Jazlyn' last='Wilkerson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='751230' first='Sienna' last='Bieler']. Their offense runs through them as both players know how to step up in big situations and make elite plays. Their role players know how to compliment the offense and fill the gaps needed really nicely. They have great wins against Mount Si, Archbishop-Murphy, Bothell, and Tahoma. They have had 2 losses on the year, to Lake Washington and Bellevue. They seem destined to finish the season with only 2 losses to head into post season play.

Chiawana HS: Current Record: 15-0

Chiawana sits with an undefeated record as we enter the late stretch of the regular season. They have beaten Prosser and Mead but have yet to tested for an in-conference game, with 11 of their 15 wins being in-conference and with all conference games left, they have a very good chance to make it to the post season undefeated. This could end up hurting in the postseason with not seeing a lot of other non-conference 4A teams. [player_tooltip player_id='579812' first='Baylee' last='Maldonado'], [player_tooltip player_id='985965' first='Brailyn' last='Foster'], and [player_tooltip player_id='587378' first='Gianna' last='Medelez'] are leaders on this team and help this team be a well rounded squad from top to bottom.

Auburn HS: Current Record: 14-2

Auburn has [player_tooltip player_id='928137' first='Avery' last='Hansen'], who is and has played like a top player in the state. She puts the team on her back in a big way, being able to score the ball from all 3 levels and easily pick apart opposing players with ease. She has quick handles and fast reactions, knowing when she needs to get a bucket for her team. Tahoma is the only team to best them from the state of WA. They have solid wins against Enumclaw and North Thurston and have played great together all season.

Sumner HS: Current Record: 15-2

Sumner is a talented squad from top to bottom, having elite players on the roster. [player_tooltip player_id='676260' first='Kawehi' last='Borden'] is a different level of player, destined to be a high level D1 player in the future. [player_tooltip player_id='318805' first='Olivia' last='Collins'] is another player who makes a difference on the court and is another player who can play at the D1 level. They both play with patience and high IQ, picking apart defenses and scoring with ease. [player_tooltip player_id='753673' first='Kessa' last='Nohr'] is another player who steps up and knows how to play to role to help her team and the offense play at a high level.
